Well, seeing as we are starting to take over the

"Offical HOP "I just learnt a new move" thread", I thought we should contain this bit just to jugglerisng and the throwing and dropping of balls, clubs, rings and other miscellaneous juggling props.

Today I mothered learning 441.

I had a few throws of 531 but only 1 catch. I think my 5 is too high.

Note for the mods: I DEMAND on behalf of the jugglers on this site, as has been done with the aforementioned "Poi moves thread", that this one is made a sticky thread.

Otherwise its just favouritism really....

I havent been yet hexagonic; its between 2 and 10 at notts university, and im going at three.
Also, back on the topic of romeos revenge, is it meant to look like a chop to the right before throwing from the chop in claw, then chopping on the right again and doing a little flourishy thing similar to burkes barrage, then you repeat it on the other side? I've got an hour to find out! The thing that I listed above ive got solid, well over 100 catches. Not bad to say I learnt it yesterday. But is it even right!?

Edit: did the pattern I just desribed make sense to anyone?

EditEdit: does anyone know wher i can find a video for a shower explosions?

Romeo's for me is underarm throw upwards, overarm backtoss and an underarm throw to the middle and then an orbit back to the start.

"Moo," said the happy cow.

I got a bit tired of practicing 4b mills so i went onto jugglewiki, found a fun pattern and learnt it, i think it was called taylors tangle, it has a really nice rhythmn, good for juggling to music.

my legs don't work any more.

but in return, i learnt more things to do with 1-3 balls in the last two days than i did in the past year.

unfortunately, as well as lots of balls, i also caught a cold frown

Being thirteen does mean you have more time to juggle, but it also means you've got to go to school.

hexagonic,
Ive been juggling five for bout three months, so ive got till march to beat 1min 40. At the moment im getting bout ten more catches evry week (last week I was at 74... that was just a massive jump for me). Since I reached 30 cathces the pattern just clicked! btw. approximately how many catches do you think you did in that 1 min 40? it depends on how high you were throwin.

what do you think are the best warm ups before doin five balls. Normally, i start with two, doing 5, pass, 5 pass. Three: showers, snake, high cascade, flashes. Four: 55550, or 555pass555pass. 5: flashes.

Edit- is a 1 in siteswap a pass, and a 0 a mimed throw?

Approximately 4 catches per second, if I recall correctly. 1min 40 = 400catches.

My record of 2 min 15 ish = 540. smile

so ive gotta beat approximately 400 catches. 12 weeks= 120 more catches acording to my learning rate, equaling 210 catches after 6 months. looks like hexagonic has won.... but then again, he was a year older than me.

Edit: how many catches would you class as having the patetrn solid?

That's what I like about juggling, the sense of trumph you feel when you learn a new trick. I don't feel that for any other object manipulation business...

Anyway, regarding your question about warming up for five, my opinion is - all those siteswaps (5552, 55550, 5551 etc) are rubbish for helping with five.

My advice =

Don't practice long runs all the time;, practice your ability to start correctly, to keep the pattern nicely in the air, and then have a clean finish, for maybe 30/40/50 throws. I find that helps.

Another method -

Do 10 sets of flashs, 10 sets of 7 catches, 10 sets of 11 catches, 10 sets of 15 catches etc, builing up a base pattern with 5.

All those four ball siteswaps which "help" with 5 should be easier once you're good with five.

it's funny how sometimes people write "5" and sometimes people write "five" . . . . offtopic

so, umm, I still can't do 66661 with five. I really should practice doing 5 more often. On a brighter note: I think I might be able to do rubentsien's revenge now . . .
