well, im over halfway through going through every contact thread every made on HoP, and on the way to organising all the links in one convenient thread for everyone from newbies to gods.

why?
when i was living in newcastle [Oz] for 6 months - being the only member of the fire crew with regular computer access [bloody hippies!] and the only wierdo trying to learn contact staff i became pretty familiar with all the threads and vids.

but while im still editing and compiliing all the info - i figured id better check - is anyone else doing this at the moment?

theres so much info to go through!

well. i should have sorted through everything my the weekend so the update links list should be there then.

cheers,
ed.

oh please! i have no objection to a thread hijaking - id be quite the multilple-offender-hypocrit! biggrin

ill just leave the streamy conversion thing to more technologically adept individuals. my ability to download videos is limited to right clicking and saving.

ill just go and find some sunglasses so i dont get my retinas burnt out from the cheesy american blinding white teethy smiles those baton twirlers manage to execute while completing perfect doubleflip steve neckwrap combinations.

err... milk? sugar?

Right, no more work for me for the next few million years. Although it would be nice to have videos where you can *see* what's happening, rather than just a blur of pixels. Better wait for the video I guess...

so it turns out im a dirty dirty liar and it is possible to "create" extra information when magnifying an image. im ever so slowly making my way through the guys thesis the math is quite horrible and i have a sneaking suspision that to achieve the wicked results on this page requires a human opperator to select the number of interactions each image goes through...... but theres hope

Dude, I'm getting the DVD on sunday!

And yes, I will willfully illegally rip the good bits out and post them for all to illegally download.

Then I am sure, there will be much rejoicing. Followed by five years of hard practise. ubbangel

That's pretty impressive stuff. I love the swirly effect it comes out with on some images. It looks "non-trivial" though wink

There is a dvd in existance, though, which might be an easier way to get high res video biggrin

i like the one where they take out half of the image of the pretty girl and reconstruct the original image ..... mainly for the pretty girl but its cool to. the basic theory is that the image exists as a continous surface so it (to my understanding) intelligently (ie non linearly) interpolates the image between the regions that have been removed. cant wait to see the dvd

What is interpolation? In my brain it means: Making stuff up you don't know from stuff you do.

I like the totoro... It seems to have made up information about the lines in the image... You must know more stuff about this sort of thing than me anyway.

I don't see why you can't get your 'super' secret software to identify the baton in the baton twirling vids and highlight it in some way. That would be useful.

How would it do that intelligently?

so If we can remove glasses then give it a few years and they'll be able to remove whole items of clothing then we can produce sun glass with little video camars in that project the 'reconstruted' image onto the lens and... oh dear (Granparents just entre the room) biggrin

Maybe I should change this too something abit nicer, humm no I still think your all Ccensoredt

Yeah interpolation is taking a set of samples, assuming something about the underlying distribution to allow you to fit a function to it and then sampling that function to get more points. But making stuff up from what you know it probably a better description biggrin
