Hello
Has anyone here from UK had experience of buying from HOP?
If so do the customs get you?
If they do, how much money do they want before they let you have your stuff? Is it a percentage of the order?
I'm looking for kevlar wick and HOP is cheaper than anywhere I can find in UK. (Possibly because of the exchange rate), but if the customs men have another big wack off me then it's a false economy.
Does anyone know?

I've bought loads of stuff from the HOP shop and never had any problems at all!

Although a friend of mine bought some stuff and got it sent to a work address and got stung for import duty on it!

I'll be getting some more bits soon (COL 5) and have no concerns at all about buying from abroad!

I'd say go for it.

Ireland and england have more or less the same customs policies.

Here is my shopping list so far

1 inner core staff

1 set fire poi

1 dvd

1 set meteors

1 set poi wiv tails

8 feet of 4x1/8 inch wick (which i just used some of last night and its great stuff...)

1 book.

Enjoy your purchases and dont worry.

Love is the law.

Cheers,
I'll save up my pennies and hope the exchange rates don't change too much!

I've made about 8 orders I think, and only been stung by cutoms once - on 2 pairs of flags - customs was about £10 frown

But spread that over the eight orders it's no biggy...

Thanks.
I've never had to think about customs before, I had no idea how much they might want, I thought it might be loads. (and it's not like the government don't get enough! I'm taxed three times every time I get a pint of milk!)
I don't know if I should say this but I've been comparing kevlar rope/wick prices and Butterfingers is really expensive. I was gobsmacked at the difference.
Cheers for the info, I shall get some cash together and buy enough to make some nice big wicks.
Then it's fire, fire, fire!
