Posted:Someone resently emailed me about Moonfest, concerning the smelliness of the fire twirling fumes... helth issues ect. Suggesting that I have too nights for moonfest, one for just the "professionals" and another for all the others... she says it can't be healthy to be breathing in such a consentrated amount of fumes all at once....

But imagine that! "no sorry tonight is just for the professional twirlers... no fun... you're not aloud to just injoy yourself tonight, didn't you know this is just for professionals to put on a show for unappreciative people!" It's larghable!!!

I love Moon Fest, and it's the fact that everyone feels comfortable ennough to just get up and play that makes it so beautiful! and beginner twirlers have to start somewhere... and where better than a friendly, fire LOVING environment like Moon Fest The magority of people that comment on moonfest LOVE the fact that there are SO MANY twirlers!

GRRRRRRR!!! People like this make me mad

If she wants to see professionals do there shows she should go to their shows and not epect to be entertained at a warm friendly gathering...

It's the festive folkie people that make a good folk festival!

Well I've had my little rave...

What do you guys think???

Posted:I's suspected that in interacting with other twirlers that I'd find some common interests, but I'd never imagined HoP to be _this_ sweeeet! it caters for more than shrimp!
I may never need another forum or powertool again. (it slices, it dicerolls!)
it's barmy! still, Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say 'Ni' at will to old ladies! There is a pestilence upon this land! nothing is sacred! Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this point in time!

Posted:And as for Moonfest i'll be in OZ around March 2003 and might make it to Melbourne first (just to annoy everyone I can possibly meet in Melbourne and then Sydney and then brisbane ) Boy are we gonna have fun playing, dancing in costumes and ... eating crepes and otehr yummy stuff

As far as I'm concerned, I don't like the Monty Pythons, I don't understand their humour and they are boring ...

Bender ... you want to be a lumberjack ?

:starts singing::

Leaping from tree to tree! As they float down the mighty rivers
of British Columbia! With my best girl by my side!
The Larch!
The Pine!
The Giant Redwood tree!
The Sequoia!
The Little Whopping Rule Tree!
We'd sing! Sing! Sing!

Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.

CHORUS: He's a lumberjack, and he's okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch,
I go to the lavatree.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch,
He goes to the lavatree.
On Wednesdays he goes shoppin'
And has buttered scones for tea.

CHORUS

I cut down trees, I skip and jump,
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing,
And hang around in bars.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps,
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing
And hangs around.... In bars???????

CHORUS

I chop down trees, I wear high heels,
Suspenders and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie
Just like my dear papa.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he wears high heels
Suspenders and a .... a Bra????

Posted:this is a very good topic and yes, i do believe that there is a monty python sketch for every occasion, but the real question is.....which is the best british comedy out of
Monty Python
Only Fools and Horses
Fawlty Towers
Blackadder

you cannot tell me that that isnt a hard question and i have spent many a night down the pub discussing it.....here are 2 songs which i believe you wil enjoy both by Monty Python:
The Philisopher's Beer drinking song:
Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable.

Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table.

David Hume could out-consume
Wilhelm Freidrich Hegel,

And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel.

There's nothing Nietzche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed.

John Stuart Mill, of his own free will,
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.

Plato, they say, could stick it away--
Half a crate of whiskey every day.

Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle.
Hobbes was fond of his dram,

And Ren Descartes was a drunken fart.
'I drink, therefore I am.'

Yes, Socrates, himself, is particularly missed,
A lovely little thinker,
But a bugger when he's pissed

and The Galaxy song:
Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the 'Milky Way'.

Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It's a hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide.
We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.
We go 'round every two hundred million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.

any other requests???

Posted:hey,
I don't know if someone has mentioned this, but earlier on people were asking about a cleaner burning fuel.
I have a heard of (and can get where I am) a fuel called Pegasol. Its cleaner burning, doesn't smell as bad, doesn't mark your clothes as much. Where I am you have to get it in 40 litres amounts rather then the small bottles of Kero but it is cheaper (here) to get it rather then the kero anyway.

Posted:You obviously haven't seen Ripping Yarns if you don't think it's funny UCOF.

Does anyone under 40 actually like Only Fools and Horses? Or am I alone in thinking it's dire? I remember it being funny at the time but I can't seem to find it funny anymore.
