Does anyone know if this is fake or even better, how it's done?

I agree that it is probably just someone tracing out the star. You can see a more intense flame at each of the points, which leads me to believe it was time with a slow shutter speed and held just a tad at each point.

well... the laws of physics kind of point against it... but don't say that it's totally impossible, if one were to have one's poi burning very brightly, and very big, and one were to almost whip them from corner to corner with fair accuracy one might be able to pull off a move as such... but to get it so blazingly accurate it'd be damn near impossible...

i found that to! mental isnt it!
im fairly sure its just someone tracing out a star shape with a staf or breathing stick tho, god gang bastards, you'd be pretty annoyed if u bought the poi thinking that you could do that with them!
