biggrin so here's how it started...

Home of Poi Day is an idea generated by members of this site, where for one day a year all of us can meet each other in regional locations around the world to share our love of poi. Last thing i heard, plan's for this years event were focussed around October 30th. umm

The Sphercular Ball is an idea independntly generated by members of Spherculism.com to celebrate 1 000 members on Spherculism by (see above). By coincidence the proposed date is also the 30th October. (also co-incidentally HOP has recently achieved 10 000 members) umm

Poi In the Park in Sheffield is the longest established poi meet in the UK and is soon to get a new web host which means PK can make the website even better. Sheffield would co-incidentally be the best place to hold a regional Poi meet for the midlands/north. umm

Bearing these facts in mind and adding together these co-incidences there can only be one outcome: ubbidea

On Saturday 30th October, Poi In the Park of Poi have offered to host a HUGE poi meet at Endcliffe Park in Sheffield to celebrate the Sphercular Home of Poi Day Ball 2004!!! biggrin ubbrollsmile weavesmiley hug

Everyone's invited however good you are or wherever you come from and we want as many spinners, jugglers, acrobats etc... as possible from the surrounding Midlands/North to be there so SPREAD THE WORD!!!

grouphug

the meet will probably start some time after lunch + run on as long as it does. seeing as it's halloween and a special celebration of the Poi community we should come up with lots of fun ideas of things to do like fancy dress and i reckon there should be lots and lots of cake.... smile

So whaddya reckon? Who's coming? biggrin

what?

That made no sence.

I even read it backwards...

It made slightly more sence but was still incomprehenible.

Any ideas what Mech meant?
Anyone?

If i am there, so will the tent be. I will be inside the tent. With you.

If i am not there, the tent will not be either. I will be outside the tent. Without you.

I bumped into Solace today and we were talking of how it sounds like there's going to be a bit of a tent presence.

In conjuction with the fact that there's likely to be more people than accomadation, maybe everyone who has a tent and transport should bring it, leading to a little festival type thing?

As well as crash space it would be useful if Sheffields weather plays up as it generally does on PIP days smile

If so it would be worth putting a big emphasis on keeping it low key to prevent unnecessary interest from the authorities.

And it would be good if everyone could bring a bin liner and endeavour to deal with rubbish as it occurs, rather than the usual practice of waiting till it gets dark and realising that you can't see a thing.

Look like I'm coming possibly!?!

Bringing Tent although sleeping in car is always an option I'm good at.

May even bring some poi and spin them around a bit.

What about the woods behind were we span 1.5 years ago?

Or cant we put them at the sides of the park?

Can someone check if it is common ground somehow. If you know how, or think you know how, then please try. Dont leave it up to someone else, otherwise it will never get done. This could save us the possibility of the council turning up and telling us at 9 o clock on saturday/ sunday morning after we had 4 hours sleep and are still stoned/ ganstatripping, to move as we are not allowed to camp there.

Thank you.
hug for whoever finds it.

(try ringing Sheffield local council pehaps?)

hey guys

i think that tents might have to be the way forward,

ground space is definatly sortable in that respect tho i might look into how we can unofficially officially sort it out (if yous gets me)

the other alternative is whether the hall used by the teapots society is readily and inexpensively hire-able. if so then we have hall space, sleep space and a kitchen for the weekend. possibly more desireable then tents, mebbe? we'll see biggrin

crazy days!

There are a few of us thinking about trying to sort out some sensible amounts of tarpaulins to put up as roofing in the tree area - I'm get back to you lot once we have a few more plans, but it saves putting them up when it gets dark.

It may be a day to break out the new toys I've been making, I think O;-P

I would suggest that given the turn out, we could maybe do with sorting out a list of places nearby to get food, etc.

Will...if you can, please bring your tent. Extra space is much better than not enough space, when it just becomes unfomfortable
