So how do you actually attach them? Do you bend the end of their wire around the chain just above the poi head? Don't they sparkle out before the poi are really flaming?

I've seen Frodo do this before.
He just pushed 3 sparklers through a tube core wick, and fastened them at the top with some tape.
Voila, sparkly fire poi.

Do you have a spare set of older more knackered wicks you could sacrifice (cathedrals?).
I've never tried it, but I suppose you could drill very small holes through the wick, and shove the sparklers through that way.
Just make sure they're nice and secure on the top end.

get a box or two or sparklers, take half og the ones you are going to use and bend their handles all together, do the same with the other half - attach string or your chains, light and spin like hell because you only have about 20 or 30 seconds tops.

When i bought the wool it was in one roled pack and I cut twice
40mc of the role and taged to chain of Poi. Then I burn both the fringe ends and heat em

I made cages for my wool, but your photos are much more sparkly than I ever acheived.

When I bought the wire wool was rolled. First I made globe shaped cages, but I saw the wire need space and air to burn the most. So I cut just two 40cm long strips from the roll and wire them to the end of chain from my fire Poi and wire a bit the wool around.

Huuu, the idea of attaching sparklers to normal poi by a hole is so simple, it must work :-)... I am going to have a fire meeting friday, so if I'm able to find some sparklers, I'll let you know if it worked and how it looks!>
