Hey Mike,
Since you asked if I would mind if you posted my e-mail on HoP I decided to take a peek into what was said. I havn't been on those boards for quite some time and I am supprised to see some of the same old faces.
To answer a few of the posts, no I am most definatly not dodging scuicide bombers, luckily for me I am not in a hot spot. Though I must correct Dom, it is not because of my job that I am not put out on the streets patroling, but because of my unit and location, both I am not going to discuss openly. No offence to anyone but they just don't need to know.
I am however quite happy and have actually learned a thing or two about this part of the world. Iraq is not my enimy, nor has it ever been. The people of Iraq, at least the ones I have met and spoken to, are both kind and of some of the highest caliber of people I have ever met. I do not know any well, and am speeking on face value alone, but none seem to have the arrogance us "Westerners" seem to think we don't have. They are not evil nor even a little bit bad.
Well, my time is almost up (we have a limited time on the internet and I have used it to write to the populous of HoP), so I must bid a fond farewell and a very big thank you for the king thoughts, especially from Valura, our last words were not of friendship and I thank her and apologise to her for all that was said.
Know that I am happy and proud to serve my country, I hope that we can rebuild Iraq to a higher level than when we first came here a decade or so ago.
Farewell,
S.B.
