At Falmouth, someone mentioned (can't remeber who) that poi spinners either fall into the category of Geek (possably nerd) or Hippy.
So what one do you fall into??

Could you explain the difference for us, as regards spinners?

I'm definitely a geek, always and in all areas of my life, but I'm not sure what your Falmouth friend meant exactly.

there are shades of grey here.
we're too complex a creature to pigeonhole as 100% anything but human biggrin and that can be taken as a really technical geeky or spiritually hippy conclusion to draw! wink

Naw, bender, the concept could be either but the presentation is pure Geek. The Hippy version would be "hey, we're all, like, human, you know? Like there's all these shades of grey? Why do we have to, like, um, ...pigeonhole everyone, you know? I think we should all just get along."

That's the short version, of course. :-)

You can't avoid pain by fencing yourself from it.
Some times you need the help of others more than anything else
But you have to let them close enough to help......
People want to be needed, I found that out too

Saying that, as a reader of slashdot.com Their motto is 'news for nerds, stuff that matters'
Does that make me a geek or a nerd, and a poi spinning one at that.

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

I wouldnt consider myself either of these, cause I dont take drugs and I just dont fit the image of a geek.

I would see myself as more of a dancer.

I'm def leaning more toward the geek side.

I'd like someone to define what a geek is though. Its very important that everything in the world is clearly defined and categorised so that i dont get distracted while im spinning

Equally doesn't believe Star Trek is true.

So that makes me awkward and possibly socially inept.
