WOW ubblove

That's the best glow video I've ever seen by miles. How are the colours changing like that? Think they must be programable or something.

Awesome tune too. biggrin

This is essential, people - snatch it.

I was at tonights filming session for the next video, and my main impression is that they look even better in real life than they do on the vids!

definitly a big step beyond aerotech as-

1. sheer number of LEDs, they seem to contain every colour of the spectrum and are incredibly bright

2. colour changes, patterns and strobes are completely controlled via the handle switch

They're designed by a spinner, for spinners, with nice touches like being powered by batteries which makes them practical at festivals and other places than lack mains outlets.

It's been a long time since I was mesmerised by electric spinning, but these are truly awesome; even on non-strobe the individual colours are amazing due to sheer brightness.

When the strobe patterns kick in the magic starts- when stationary it's actually a little painful to look directly at them, they're so bright that it hurts to look directly at them.

When moving the patterns are awesome and go way beyond anything I've seen on other equipment; plus you can flow from any pattern to any other whilst spinning, simply by pressing the handle button.

Truly incredible, and, though the vids look great, they don't fully convey just how beautiful and intense these poi are.

So does anyone have a clue as to when these will be on the market or how much they might cost? I'm guessing an arm and a leg and maybe even my first born son.

Becuase I read the thread on PiP properly tongue It also says they're likely to be less than a £100 wich is very nice indeed biggrin

meepette, I only had a brief weave with them but they felt pretty solid.

BristolPoi, vid is here:-

the one called 'new poi preview'

As for the price, no way are they going to as low as £100.

The sheer number of high power LEDs used precludes a low price on these.

*shrug* only writing what I read although going back to the thread in PiP the post about price seems to have been edited so maybe it will be more. I did think it was rediculously cheap but thats competition for ya! Maybe now there'll be more than one major hi-quality glo manufacturer we'll be seeing a lots of prices dropping quite soon. If they can make this so well just think how well they could make juggling balls etc!

apparently it's got neuro sensors which link directly into your brain and reproduce the kind of colours you thought about when you were too young to put them into words...

If anyone wants to have a look at these poi in action, there's a good opportunity at this weeks PIP (Sat 21 Aug, Endcliffe park, Sheffield), as the maker is planning to come along and bring the prototypes.

Come along and be mesmerised smile

So many questions! rolleyes biggrin

I can't really say much about how they feel to spin with as I only did a bit of a weave with them.

They were heavy but it felt like a good weight- as you can see in the vids there's some really intricate and fluid spinning going on.

I was more interested in watching them than spinning- I can spin anytime I want, but the opportunity to stand back and watch something like these is more rare smile

It's a shame you can't make Saturday. Anyone else thinking of coming I would urge them to do so

Ive never seen the glowbugs but I recon these are much different as they dont merely "change color every few seconds". Never seen anything like these in my life and theres no way they'd be 50$.

definitly not glowbug poi.

They're built by a very experienced spinner (in England).

They don't just change colour every few seconds, they're controlled via a handle switch so they can be switched to any colour combination or strobe pattern that the spinner desires.

The strobe patterns are well thought out, giving the impression of different shapes, spikes etc.

They were demo-ed at Saturdays Sheffield PIP and went down VERY well.

I spoke to Jo at PIP and he said the software is finito. He wouldn't say when they were going into production though - apparently he's still finalising the details of the design.

Can't wait angry
