omfg i saw these on the video on here and thought "they dont look much better than aerotechs" --then i went to the headcharge free party on friday (very very good party by the way), the first things i see when i walk in are these, i'm afraid to say that these are the best electric poi i have ever seen in my life.
At this point i went over to joe introduced myself and asked a few questions (cant be bothered to go in to that ) but all you need to know is that these poi look absolutly amazing theres every colour under the sun and more programs than you could throw a wet dog named mertle at, what more could you want.

anyhows just thought i'd share that with you

Seriously tho, I think big is good for this type of poi, you'd never make a "wall" of light using balls but they might be a nice cheaper alternative.

100 pounds would be expensive

The price on these im sure will more than likley exceed that Hogasm (not that i have any definate, iz just guessing) rolleyes

But if you look around for anything similar (namely here ) you will see that toys like these cost money - and when these new ones kick the ass off of the ones in the above link, i think they would have to be priced to suite, after all the market dictates the cost of most things cool

Im just being realistic - but hey we can still hope ubbangel

...when you're a large company..When you're an individual, your overhead goes way down, so unless you follow the market just to make money off other people, spinners in this example, your costs should reflect that..uh-uh, not buying that dude..Just because they're better doesn't mean they have to be as expensive. I think aerotechs prices are ridiculous..

I agree, those aerotech prices do seem ridiculous. Love the toys they have, but waaaaayyyy overpriced IMHO. Has anyone seen the light-stik by feral tech up close or in action? https://www.glowgadgets.co.uk/Light_StiK_twirling.htm

Looks cool, wonder if anyone has reviewed them or not. Anyway, cant wait for these new electric poi to be released!
Peace out! peace

To be honest, I can imagine why prices are so high for these kind of toys. It depends on what you use, but here's an idea of what it costs to make some uber Poi (the ones I'm working on) :

4 x AAA NimH batteries = £4.75

3 x Luxeon Emitters (LEDs) ~= £24

Control cicuitry ~= £10

+ the body of the unit

So just material costs per head are probably in the region of £50. Not hard to see why you'd charge £100 for a pair.

I just watched the video - looks amazing - very impressive! Brings up a lot of questions in my mind though - anyone know where I could contact 'Jo'? biggrin
