so i reckon this thread will hold a record of the new things and stuff im learning along the way, all input of any kind is welcome...

*edit*

*where was I? oh yeah here, The elbow, arm, arm elbow roll*

Its simple really, I cant do it.

I've seen some real nice clips of this move (Thankyou MCP/Glass) but I still seem to be missing somthing fundamental.

So I take the staff in my right hand, bring it accross my body under my extended left elbow and roll. extend left arm and let staff roll onto right arm. Bring staff back towards body on right arm

Now here is the problem, it just stops working there, I think i might be missing an extra beat/spin or something. Or it it could be the position of my wrist. Dont ask me what my wrist is doin, it goes all wonky in a natural reaction to the feeling of the staff falling off when i start bending my right arm on the way back in,

Any ideas?

If I can get this I'll move onto to trying to combine it with a shoulder rool and a turn to get it across my back and other shoulder.

I'm hoping to put up a clip soon, not of what i cant do but of what I can, after six months it's be cool to get some HOP feedback.

Love is the law.

infintite ninja style infinite back of the neck spins. biggrin

colm from the circus showed me a tasty one handed behind the head contact thing

like the contact windmill that knoxious does but with one hand.. start the second half of an elbow wrist elbow. instead of going on to your elbow lift your hand behind your head and keep your hand bent back as much as possible. wait till you feel the stick roll a bit on your upside down hand and the turn your body 180. voila

Love is the law.

i think i've finally cracked the matrix

the bit which i was missing out was holding the staff sufficiently off-centre that you can continue to push it round an arm as you begin the move. it's possible to add loads of spin this way, since you're pushing against your arm as a fulcrum.

Im finally starting to get jesus's or jesi! not sure what the plural is. I managed 2 and a half last night before i fell on my ass. been tryin to get into a matrix from a neck pinch but its really tough, biggest problem is getting momentum into the staff. Any suggestions to help!

Im gettin way better Jesii (search for a thread on plurii dec, all will be revealed) since i started using the wrist elbow entry. Gets the stick right in the center f my back where i need it.

Same goes for a pivot (snes tuen 180). the staff goes into the right place right away on the neck so when you turn for a chest roll the stick stays nice and close to your neck where you need it.

colm reckons he can kiss the staff mis jesus.

can you expand on those tasty sounding moves lava?

how about front side halo (as opposed to a backside halo or [censored] halo) turn 180 to front side neck roll.

ooohh, cant wait to try that

tasty moves :P right so the front side halo i enter right shoulder, the same i way i would a normal halo.....but lean diffrently and it goes across the front :P the pivot thing, if its a piviot,....is just getting another spin, but that spin is usually on the front of the left shoulder, then it can be made to come back to a FSH (front side halo) and off down the right arm :P.

the neck thing to FSH goes on, on the left shoulder horotontal, wraps the neck, spins on the back, lean. and goes for FSH from the left shoulder biggrin there are many ways to do that, but the one above is my fave so far :P

i've no idea what your talking about lava.

ubblol

the first one. does it halo on your back as you pivot back to another FSH. as in. is it FSH to Jesus?

the second one. you cant halo in the H plane spank well you can but i donthink you can call it a halo. or are you changing planes. can you break it down move by move? describe the path the stick travels on with out using all megs fancy names? coz im lost smile

I dont know why

all quiet on the western front...

I was practising stupidly poncy things as you know:

Double staff hug figure of eights... (butterfly, cos parallel looks weird.) Just the same as the poieristas do it.

and more pendulum weaves! This time, parallel two beat weaves... hmmmmm pendulum...

righ ok, so going steve like, right hand, so it would wrap the frontside of you neck, but instead you duck and the staff goes on to the back, and down the other arm, i just cant make it clean yet, any ideas?
