so i reckon this thread will hold a record of the new things and stuff im learning along the way, all input of any kind is welcome...

*edit*

*where was I? oh yeah here, The elbow, arm, arm elbow roll*

Its simple really, I cant do it.

I've seen some real nice clips of this move (Thankyou MCP/Glass) but I still seem to be missing somthing fundamental.

So I take the staff in my right hand, bring it accross my body under my extended left elbow and roll. extend left arm and let staff roll onto right arm. Bring staff back towards body on right arm

Now here is the problem, it just stops working there, I think i might be missing an extra beat/spin or something. Or it it could be the position of my wrist. Dont ask me what my wrist is doin, it goes all wonky in a natural reaction to the feeling of the staff falling off when i start bending my right arm on the way back in,

Any ideas?

If I can get this I'll move onto to trying to combine it with a shoulder rool and a turn to get it across my back and other shoulder.

I'm hoping to put up a clip soon, not of what i cant do but of what I can, after six months it's be cool to get some HOP feedback.

We could always use the Irish Thread in events wink

Keep spinning strugz. I've managed to make myself quite dizzy with that one. I've just been entering it from a normal halo type entry though. Just pushing it into place from a reverse figure of eight. not at all fancy like yours. Will give it a shot.

I reckon you could trap it instead of halo'ing it too. the spin back in the other direction. Its one of those very ungracefull traps though.

Dunc!!!! Drop over anytime dude. Your always welcome. We could always have a uberstaff decpmpression, decompression party ubbloco

You mean like shoulder carries? Where it just does a one beat on your shoulder? (Ie it wobbles up and down?) This is what I'm going to use to learn shoulder fishtails. Don't ask me why.

What I learnt today:

Jesus 3 turns. (once) which is: 1080 degrees.

Elbow pops, with less pain.

Really gotta practise those elbow fishtails now...

Otherway angels.

Damn, I learnt nothing... Hope it's sunny tommorrow....

leanrt new move last night - elbow wrist wrist elbow, push up into between neck and shoulder - from here you can pivot the same speed as the stick is turning, effectively the stick isnt spinning you are, when you stop it goes into a halo roll then back into elbow wrist wrist elbow smile

Is that the one Knox does on his vid?

The sticks in front come across your body in towards you on the down swing of an outwards butterfly.

Keep going until the staffs touch each other and the push them accross each other into opposite hands. Its like the leg wrap or neck wrap things bender, josh and fluffy do but without the legs or the neck. Each stick goes into the opposite hand.

You should be in an inwards butter fly now.

The halo is a back roll.

Both sticks come over behind the head on the upswing of a reverse butterfly. Place each stick off center on your back with more stick on the hand side. Give em a push and leave go so each stick gos into the opposite hand.

You should be back in forwards butterfly now.

Its easier to do this a teeny bit out of plane. Hence starting in one beats.

Now no more questions. I havent finished my coffee yet.

Ok no more questions ubbrollsmile

Its all clear now anyways - i thought it was something harder for a sec, but no................. You tried alternate outwards butterfly, drop left into continuous turning halo (neck variant) the other sould stay spinning in your hand at your side following the turns.........

Tiz nice biggrin

a few days ago I found out you could do horizontal angel rolls. So then I decided angel rolls are just like steves, only then go in a different direction of spin on your body. So trying to do an anti-spin angel roll, (out of forwards fishtail) is just some kind of steve variant.

In five years time, i may be able to back this up with theory.
