Tibet - and I'm going in October

I'm doing an Everest trek on the North Face. The vista from the Tibetan side is second to none. You really only get to see the tip of Everest from the Nepalese side, and you can't really trek much further than Base Camp without passing the Khumbu Ice Fall which would scare the living daylights out of me.

I'm also doing a retreat in a Tibetan buddhist monastery for a few weeks.

Kat - do you know that you must pay US$200 a day to stay in Bhutan? This covers all of your expenses, but I still find it rather steep. I think I'll hold off on Bhutan until i win the lotto.....

Faberge - yep! They only allow 5000 tourists a year into Bhutan- though a poor country they want to keep the place beautiful instead of it becoming a tourism hole! Think it will be my honeymoon destination : )
Tibet was also rather expensive last time I had the money to do some travelling - unfortunately weather wise was a bad time to go but fortunately went to McLeod Ganj where the Dalai Lama was giving teachings instead! Let me know all the news from your trip - research for the future!

Places I would love to go but probly wont go to ever because I feel that my impact will be overly negative;

Antarctica
Tibet

Id love to go to the middle east, but I think its messed up bad, and perhaps I wont live long enough to see it get sorted

Far, far too many places to list individually
On the horizon: Burning Man in a month, back to SE Asia (ish) in maybe 8 / 10 months time.
Top of the list, but unlikely to happen anytime soon: Easter island.

Hope everyone manages to get to where they want to go. I know I will.

I've never travelled outside Australia though if I had the chance I would see everything this beautiful world has to offer. I don't have the heart to select just a few places out of the many. I guess I'll just go wherever the moment takes me.
