I know ur a newbe but its kinda rude to make a thread that is already running specially when there is a post just under this one called [Old link]

There is also a [Old link] button right between "main index" and "My home". Which dosn't work that well alot of the time but im sure u can find something like :

[Old link]

[Old link]

[Old link]

[Old link]

Which just took 2 seconds to find and 5 min to post all the threads. :P

There are a million different ways, to make a staff, its usually up to indivual qualitys and what YOU like and want it to do. I usually make mine out of a length of aluminum pipe and have another pipe that fits inside cut in half so i can extend it to how i want it exactly on the day. There is a thread iv posted about how to connect the wick to the staff so it just up to you and how you put it together and what materials u have lying around.

Good luck

K I've made myself the most awsome staff. Only after a whole lot of experimenting. It's a aluminium tube approx 150mm diamater. And it's got a very snug wooden rod inserted down the centre. This way it's both light and flexible but only bend when you really smack it(nothing that cant be fixed) Hope this helps.

If you want to check out an easy way to make a wood staff go to this site https://www.crossroads.net/a/firemaking/staffs/index.php
If you need kevlar, check out www.luxotica.com
I've found that for grips, the best I've used is Rawlings Ultra Thin Synthetic Bat Grip. It's supposed to be used for baseball bat grips, but it works wonders on a staff, both metal & wood. It's smooth and has just a slight padding to it so it grips great & adds a little cushion, which won't save you from all bruises but works wonders for neck rolls or wrist rolls. You should be able to find it at most sports supply stores.

I found one more site for you that I checked out. If you're making a metal, aluminum staff it's a great one.

https://web.archive.org/web/20021011174320/www.incendium.org/equipmentframe.htm

Just copy that & paste it in your browser. It also shows how to make poi & sticks.

Good luck!
