Hello, hello and welcome to the thread for all Irish fire dancers, spinners, object manipulators, drummers, musicians and anyone else interested in these arts in Ireland.

This thread was started nearly a couple of years ago now... and it's since grown to include more people, gatherings, events, fun and games than we had thought possible.

And it's still growing - so if you're new to the arts, or want to meet up with any of us, please post at the end of this thread to introduce yourself... or send me a PM with your email address and I'll add your name to our mailing list.

There are spinners, dancers and manipulators all over the country, and you'll find lots of them on here... don't be shy, we're nice biggrin

So welcome, and hope to see you soon hug

Hello hello everyone,
as ye may know, we getting a visit from some "mainland" spinners for belfast juggle land - Olivier (alphalight) Andy (poibox) Doro (?) and Olive (olive).
ubbrollsmile

Thursday before convention they'll be arriving in dublin, and I said I'd try and figure out somewhere for them to stay, but my sisters house is full with a bunch of us coming from Cork,
so is there anyone who could find a bed, floor, cupboard, etc for some of the 4 bodies it'd be great... they are a delightful bunch.... and they don't smell too much smile

Please give a shout if you can help

see ye soon

Looks cool, but it aint cheapy cheep for sure. About 10 euro for One meter square. Though you would get alot of grips out of that.

I found i dunlop grip a while back that i believe to be the holy grail of grips. But again, at five euro a pop its definatly in the line of,posh gripppy grip... but it suits my babysoft hands. smile

are you going to reply to my pm or do i have to beg smile

Shite... Sorry barry... number on it's way right now...

We're just back from two incredible days on Tara!!

Johnny invited us all down to spin fire and 'reawaken' the spirit and fire of Tara.

So, we (about 17 'like-minded' folk), did a ceremony on the mound (by the Stone of Destiny), then went back to that place we usually camp at and set up a wee fire.

Then, Johnny, Lisa, Casso (wicked bodhran player), Nob (video guy) and Johnny's brother (pyrotechnician) went on a seven hour (!!!) mission around the seven hills surrounding Tara. On each one we lit a firework (which the team on tara responded to with their firework), had a lil ceremony and played with fire and drums...

Oh my god, I have no idea how we managed to keep going for that long - over fields, hills, ditches, barbwire... it was the most incredible mission.

The weather was perfect and, of course, the higher energies smiled on us - everything went really well.

So woohoo for Johnny and bringing attention back to the energy of that stunning place...

Hi all..

confused

I'm working at a peace and reconciliation center ( https://www.corrymeela.org/
) on N.I north cost as a volunteer. Me and the other 13 volunteers have been given the opportunity to host and found our own residential. We are already well on our way with the planing. The event which will be on the Easter weekend 14-16/4 Is going to have the theme of New beginnings and is focus on giving young youth workers or ppl studying to become youth workers in N.I to learn new skills and create new connections that they can use in there future work. We are wondering if anyone would be interested in holding workshops like object manipulation, staff, poi, dance, drumming etc etc .

If you are interested send me a mail and Ill get back to you for a chat. This could be a good oppertunity to premote yourself or a groupe and get interresting contacts.
