Hello, hello and welcome to the thread for all Irish fire dancers, spinners, object manipulators, drummers, musicians and anyone else interested in these arts in Ireland.

This thread was started nearly a couple of years ago now... and it's since grown to include more people, gatherings, events, fun and games than we had thought possible.

And it's still growing - so if you're new to the arts, or want to meet up with any of us, please post at the end of this thread to introduce yourself... or send me a PM with your email address and I'll add your name to our mailing list.

There are spinners, dancers and manipulators all over the country, and you'll find lots of them on here... don't be shy, we're nice biggrin

So welcome, and hope to see you soon hug

... I'm thinking of organising such a festival next year... it's going to be alot of work.

Yep, it sure is. Rather you than me wink Fair play to you lady, you do keep yourself busy. And big congratjubilations on CoL biggrin

I too am pining for the good old days of fire, bucky and good company in fields...please if you're going to put anything together, do it at a time when I can actually go, and spin, and drink, and laugh like in olden days...am so busy with my masters degree it's like the ejc never ended.

le sigh

Speaking of EJC business, we will be replacing faulty EJC t-shirts at Tralee. Dee is collecting them at TCD juggling for us, but I'm afraid that for the rest of the country I can't guarantee that we will have the exact size, colour etc that you are looking for as we are going to have to guess when ordering. Then we will not be ordering any more t-shirts. And we will stop having to spend hours sorting them and labelling them for postage all over the world...

Clare, don't get convention t-shirts. Ever. I officially hate them. It's always the little things that take up all the time...

Hi all,
out of my absence I'd like to say that last week while at a rather funky party in birr i met this organic farmer i used to work for, he has a three hundred acre farm so i thought sure he can only say no... and instead of my pessimistic prognostication he said..."of course anytime" biggrin
so a jenny in the town costs €50...now that thats organised,
whose bringing the decks? shall we say the closest weekend to may 1st *hoping may 1st is a weekend*
Sorted, see ya'll at my house...its 2 hours from everywhere:p
Someone has to make things at least seem easy wink

ado, hipple bipple once more. and it would be amazing to have toi et ta belle amour in the flat for extra crashage. LN says 'eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' *with lots of clapping and mini jumping* i'll have the kettle on if you let me know when yous are on the train. LN will be working, but she'll be able to get us in the clubs for free and then we can get drunk together.

good to see you back on the boards eimhin, how are ya keepin?
party in birr, eep!

well now:), that was interesting:

Cirque Du Soleil are actively seeking new talent from Ireland, the website has info on the casting process and they are looking for both replacements for artistes leaving the various productions and talent for new productions in the pipeline.

They want mad/crazy acts/talents based on the abilities of the human body.

DVD was very impressive and a little bit intimidating but the lady doing the Q+A said that the demo clips don't have to be studio grade, they just want to see how you move, body type and so on.

I have put the handout up in my gallery as a PDF so ye can go and take alook at the details.

PS.Those people that asked me for those things......check your mail....

EDIT: sorry guys no go on the PDF, best effort resulted in a somewhat fuzzy JPEG, if anyone wants, I can Email them a copy of the PDF, much easier to read.
