Hello, hello and welcome to the thread for all Irish fire dancers, spinners, object manipulators, drummers, musicians and anyone else interested in these arts in Ireland.

This thread was started nearly a couple of years ago now... and it's since grown to include more people, gatherings, events, fun and games than we had thought possible.

And it's still growing - so if you're new to the arts, or want to meet up with any of us, please post at the end of this thread to introduce yourself... or send me a PM with your email address and I'll add your name to our mailing list.

There are spinners, dancers and manipulators all over the country, and you'll find lots of them on here... don't be shy, we're nice biggrin

So welcome, and hope to see you soon hug

Birgit - if you get a cheap flight to Dublin from either Edinburgh or Glasgow, currently you can get a return bus to Cork (via Millstreet i think, have to double check) for €12.

Remember, Ireland is very small - you can get to Millstreet from Dublin, Cork, Shannon or Kerry airports very easily smile

I know... I was just checking the Ed airport website to see if there actually were direct flights, and found it quite amusing that they want nearly 1000 Euros for a one hour flight smile

Won't book yet though, I think it might be worth organising a groups thingy from here, what with all the jugglers and Pooks and hippies and other spinners biggrin

I'd say it's just too early to book flights - Ryanair don't even release their schedules, never mind their special offers this far in advance. You should be able to get a very reasonable flight nearer the time. Plus we will try to arrange sponsorship/discounts/something, but i have no details on that yet.

See you in Tralee?

Yep smile

Trying to get in contact with Flip - he said we could stay with his lot, so I assume we'll have to bring sleeping bags etc. I just don't know where they stay or how we'll find them. We'll arrive Saturday, hopefully around lunchtime, so I guess we'll just ask our way through smile

The only thing I'd need to know is if we have to leave on Sunday night and find somewhere else to stay, or if everyone's staying till Monday.

Can't wait bounce

Send me on an email at adophire at g mail dot com and i'll email you back his number (this is an uber flyby post)

Im not sure, but i'd guess everyone is leaving on sunday. Though if you wanted to stay another night i reckon you could get a hostel easy after all the jugglers, geeks and hippies clear out. smile

If you fancy extending your tour a little bit your more than welcome to stay with myself and amelie in limerick on sunday night. smile

either way

see you soon!!!

Darrell, sorry for confusion! I just got an email back saying my answer to you couldn't be delivered, so I've texted it to your phone and will put it on here as well!

The plane arrives at 11.20 pm, so will try and hurry up. I've printed out lots of maps and should be able to find your place - it's near Gardiner St, yes?

Thanks a lot for letting us stay smile We'll come as close to your place as possible, I don't think my mobile's going to work cause it didn't last time, but we'll find a public phone somewhere! See you tonight!
