Hello, hello and welcome to the thread for all Irish fire dancers, spinners, object manipulators, drummers, musicians and anyone else interested in these arts in Ireland.

This thread was started nearly a couple of years ago now... and it's since grown to include more people, gatherings, events, fun and games than we had thought possible.

And it's still growing - so if you're new to the arts, or want to meet up with any of us, please post at the end of this thread to introduce yourself... or send me a PM with your email address and I'll add your name to our mailing list.

There are spinners, dancers and manipulators all over the country, and you'll find lots of them on here... don't be shy, we're nice biggrin

So welcome, and hope to see you soon hug

Thanks Faberge, (how do you get that little thing over the e?), will definitely do that...
flip, will give you a shout when I get there. I arrive on the 14th, which I suspect is a Friday, and leave on the Monday, so not much time at all. Looked at a map and its a tiny place, so getting around to the West doesn't look that hard. Can't wait, this promises to be jugs of fun...

Hi all.

I'm a crazy Clown, Fire artist, Balloon animal fabricator and up close newbie magic wannabie. Just arived to northern Ireland a few weeks ago. Originally From sweden but I'm staying here for a year as a volunteer at Corrymeela Center in Ballycastle (Antrim). So if your ever in the neighbourhood just pop in and say hi.

I was going to the Pixy festival in The botanic garden "Belfast" but Firepoise I'm sorry to say that my duties required me elsewhere.

Nice one to everyone that made it down to the Clon Juggling Convention, and helping to make it work! Even with the serious short term organisation it turned out class
I still can't believe we organised a juggling convention, and now that its been done once, next year ( or whenever we want) it will be much easier. Oh I do love this learning and evolving stuff I've been hearing of! biggrin

Looking forward to Tralee!
Was thinking about going to galway to practice poi workshops...I need to figure out how to do this properly.....
Anyway anyone fancy a lovely long spin in galway next week, Galway juggle club is on Mon + Tues I think.

Hope to see ya all soon

Hey there, folks,

I've been intermittently lurking on this thread, pretending Ireland is still 'home' and you guys are still my regular, 'see you next weekend' type friends, and not posting because I'm trying not to get too home-sick...

I'm coming back to Belfast! bounce bounce2

*throws back head, closes eyes and thinks wistfully of long fire sessions on freezing cold nights*

I'll turn up sometime around the 22nd October, and staying just long enough to go back to Perth for my first family Christmas since 1994.

See you all soon!!

clap

I am glad this is an international game - I learnt in school that the world spins, and now I know it's true.

Nice one again to all the conventioneers, whether 'twas in spirit or the flesh you were with us. It'll surely be an annual event. Who's up for organising the Irish juggling convention next year? I was thinking maybe the five days immediately after or before the European down in millstreet biggrin always nice to keep the buzz going
Ronan, as ever i'm with you on the juggly front in Gaillimh next week, anyone who fanci8es that buzz give a shout and sure we'll get together.
Oh and as for the mad2 anti-ev.... ooooops wavehello ubbloco

Thanks... Knew I'd see Clare around, but it's twice as good to have twice the friends there! Looking forward to seeing you all again.

I'll be spending the next two weeks in a remote Scottish wood, with a staff spinner and assorted others, so I'll be working on getting all my new moves back up to scratch... Did I mention I had my first go with fire staff - single and doubles - a couple of weeks ago? Well, that's not much to look at yet, but that's ok, it leaves room for improvement.

I am glad this is an international game - I learnt in school that the world spins, and now I know it's true.

Anyway I just realised I'm doing a trip around Ireland biggrin
Leaving West Cork, heading to Galway for lots of spinniness with Eimhin and the other assorted galway heads. If anyone fancys a spin/juggle/manipulation/skinning up come to galway juggling club monday and tuesday, I plan on tricking everyone into giving me a workshop workshop under the facade of poi workshops hehehehe biggrin
Then up to Belfast to visit Clare, hoping I'll get there wednesday/tuesday, I haven't been to been up north since I was a kid smile
Followed by a quick scoot south to dublin to visit my sister for the weekend, anyone feel like a spin for a change? If weathers nice stephens greenery could be a plan ubbrollsmile
And then back westcorkyland.

Wow around the country in a week
someone contact those guiness fellas

hope to bump into as many of ye as possible on my way!
See you later

*wonders when we're gonna get a long overdue staff smiley*

ronan, we should just cancel winter and insist that the weather gods grant us acceptable conditions for outdoor spinning for the rest of the year.
