Hello, hello and welcome to the thread for all Irish fire dancers, spinners, object manipulators, drummers, musicians and anyone else interested in these arts in Ireland.

This thread was started nearly a couple of years ago now... and it's since grown to include more people, gatherings, events, fun and games than we had thought possible.

And it's still growing - so if you're new to the arts, or want to meet up with any of us, please post at the end of this thread to introduce yourself... or send me a PM with your email address and I'll add your name to our mailing list.

There are spinners, dancers and manipulators all over the country, and you'll find lots of them on here... don't be shy, we're nice biggrin

So welcome, and hope to see you soon hug

It certainly was an interesting experience biggrin I looked at footage I got and it turned out really badly frown, I had it on night vision so you can't see anything except a couple of white blobs, you remember when my boyfriend Mark came up to us, well he took it off night vision so we go about 30 seconds of you that looked good and we got some good stuff of Marion doing the hoop, I'm still learning how to use that camera, it's a pity I didn't get it all. Say hello to Amelie for me. Did your footage turn out ok?

hey frenchy

our footage came out a little better because of the tripod but it was too dark anyway. Its ok, the ground was hard to twirl on too so it looks a little messy.

Is there any chance you could email me marions phone number? I really need to talk to her about hoopiness.

I've never done fire but I might have a go tonight so the best thing to wear is jeans, runners, long sleeve top and a hat to cover my hair have you any other tips? Oh yeah I bought some burns cream just in case.

As for me i've made a vow not to have a burn until i learn a half-decent routine for the poi(i.e more then just 3 tricks/weaves) and a bit more contact stuff with the staff.

Oh Eveish that's really crap I'd love to offer you somewhere but I just moved back in with my parentals so that's a no no. Poor you though, on behalf of the Irish nation I am outraged that happened to you, I'm sure you'll find somewhere to stay, no one's really checking this site coz they're all down at the EJC, post another message on monday though I'm sure you'll get some responses.
