Hello, hello and welcome to the thread for all Irish fire dancers, spinners, object manipulators, drummers, musicians and anyone else interested in these arts in Ireland.

This thread was started nearly a couple of years ago now... and it's since grown to include more people, gatherings, events, fun and games than we had thought possible.

And it's still growing - so if you're new to the arts, or want to meet up with any of us, please post at the end of this thread to introduce yourself... or send me a PM with your email address and I'll add your name to our mailing list.

There are spinners, dancers and manipulators all over the country, and you'll find lots of them on here... don't be shy, we're nice biggrin

So welcome, and hope to see you soon hug

Lets be realistic here... Tara is the premier hippy event of the year wink

C'mon, last year there was an organic kitchen in the middle of a feild and a tipee smile

So we're in... all the way biggrin This year there is going to be a rainbow gathering there again.. For those of you who were there last year, the people with the tipee and the people who made the mandala are all part of the rainbow tribe. Some of you would have met some folk from the bitchen kitchen around spring last year at the psytrance party that happened outside limerick. There will also be heaps of druids and witches and jugglers. There was loads of workshops going on around the hill last year too...

I dont know whats going to be happening on the weekend as the ceromony is on the wednesday night into morning i think. But there will be plenty of people there...

Clare, i highly recomend driving after the gig... Its just what you need.... All your friends and that lovely, lovely hill... *poke*

in other news, trinity Juggling was brought to an indefinate end yesterday evening by the security and several members of Trinity (non jugglers i might add) complaining about insurance issues for non Trinity members. However, the ever resourseful jugglers still had fun in merrion square. details of where in merrion square will be posted here shortly, watch this space

Oh filberts,
went up to trinity yesterday and saw only a few jugglers out by the cricket pitch, I thought it was a slow day due to everyone watching the Brazil match!

Gah! * note to self: jugglers do not change their habits so easily, if in doubt, call someone on the phone*

Any news on whats happening in the future?

i was talking bout the sunday meeting supposedly at the bandstand. i went down on sunday and met emmet and olive and one or 2 others that were juggling etc but everyone was scattered all over the park. like there were little clumps of people here and there....
Whats this BS about insurance? why have the tuesdays been "brought to an indefinite end"? and are they going to be moved or whats the story?
and i apologise for my ignorance but my knowledge of geography is while accurate to the minutest detail within auckland it is merely minute outside, so where is Navan and Tara and how do i get there from... oh let's say the brewery hostel in thomas st, dublin 8?

enter the park from 'merrion square west' turn right , down the path, teke a left at the big paved area, then right.. then the first field on the right.. or just watch out for the jugglers

Hope Limerick went well... and hopefully we'll be down there next year smile

Our workshop classes in the Crescent finished last Tuesday night... and at the fire gathering afterwards some of the workshoppers had their first burn!

It was wicked - they've done really well for only a few weeks of practice...

Anyways, someone was there with a camera... and the results are here:

Hope you like biggrin

Take care

- email is better than by phone, as then I have a written version of contact details! The same applies if you know of anyone else who hasn't received (and should have) a confirmation letter from me - please pass on the message...
