the first has been covered already by me in some other threads I'm sure.. but it involves turning a tangle from vert -> horizontal -> vertical (only spinning opposite direction from the orginal vert)

the second is taking a tangle from in front to btb... or from btb to in front.. or both..
basically start with a counterclockwise tangle.. bring the left hand under the right elbow, trhen pull the left eblow over the head.. the tanlge will roll under the right armpit to btb.. tada... from btb you can take and tangle between the shoudler blades.. right hand coming down behind the head, while the left arm comes up from the waist.. pull the right arm to the left side (right elbow over head) and bring the right hand under the left elbow.. tada.. back up front.. both of these are of course reversible.. (if anyone knows how to do a gumby, this is like taking a gumby and tangling it instead of grabbing and holding the poi..

the third is a tanlge that spins around the neck.. in the TT2 vid they take an orbital around the head.. this is kinda like that only horizontal...

some things to keep in mind..
1) your hands must move.. you need to be comfortable enough with your tanlges that your hands have freedom of movement.. I like to think of it as spinning with the tangle.. kinda like when you isolate tangles..
2) the descriptions suck because well its jsut hard to describe plain and simple..
3) if you use aim (revtheraver), yahoo (raver4202000), or msn (phramulo@hotmail.com) you can get clips of all of this stuff.. files range from 243k to about 500k meaning its lowbandwith friendly.. and thus you don't have to worry about the crappy descriptions
4) if anyone knows how to dropkick spymac into letting me use the 100mg hosting space, pleaselet me know and these will be put in a much easier to access place..

happy spinning weavesmiley

Nice man, those tangles are pretty sick. Seems like something that could only be done with socks or at least be much harder with chains. Doubt Ill get these any time soon but its good stuff.

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.
We'll blaze a new trail,
and torch the rough patches.

the axis turn is a pain with various poi ESPECIALLY glowsticks.. gotta find the right poi/ chain combination to get the torque..

but the rest work really well

Thanks fo the vids Rev.

Much easier to understand than / & \ and ---- with some /o/ wink

Is the first vid a kind of isolated hyperloop?
They'll be great to see when you've got the right weight/chain combo to get them really clean biggrin

Let's relight this forum ubblove

its not an isolation.. it uses the knot winding (whine not wind) that I talked about soo much everythwere but could never explain fully enough to people..

its kinda like isolating but not.. because its not about keeping this perfect harmony and matching the speed of thepoi or anything... see I start with a tangle (airwrap to some hyperloop to others) its the one that looks like this:

Code:

L r

\ /

\/

/\

/ \

l R

but the trick is I use the first turn to make a knot... by using the hand to hand as one axis and the poi to poi as another axis and twisting it like a gyrascope... using the grooves of the knot to push or wind the tangle.. that's where all the torque comes in for the turns.. and I usually have to pull my hands apart to get a little speed boost but managed to get it really clean in the clip.. turning that axis is F***************************N hard.. and is probably the hardest most unreliable thing I know..

The over the shoulder btb transitions from the second vid are particularly awesome, and now at the top of my "stuff to learn" list biggrin

yeah.. people want me to make a vid.. but I think its easier just to make clips of things that people want to see in the vid.. that and it makes it accessible to people with and without broadband..

saw them! spiffy stuff. that gyroscope is cool. your small poi remind me of astrojax. don't hit your skull with those things, that would draw blood! yet another example of why it is good to change your "poi" styles as much as possible to keep your moves fresh and inventive.

that's not me in the avatar.. that's from the movie human traffic..

and those are hackey sacks inside my socks.. they are the size of my fist.. not exactly small me thinks.. compared to the itty bitty astrojacks...

used to love the astrojacks because they were weighted nice.. but they were too small and didnt put out enough light..
