what's the strangest thing your emergency poi have been made out of?

I went to a carnival/fete thing today...and saw a staff spinner, so i wanted Poi...there and then. ubbrollsmile

ubbideaI managed to win two pom poms...and then i used Balloon string.

They weren't heavy enough.

tea bags, every time i make tea, i cant help it I HAVE TO SPIN THEM before i put them in the tea maker, all friends stare at me, thats when i stop

You can't avoid pain by fencing yourself from it.
Some times you need the help of others more than anything else
But you have to let them close enough to help......
People want to be needed, I found that out too

just about anything really....
I love shopping bags (full) because of the weight and the size (untill they tear).
at work: microphone or instrument cables (i'm a soundengineer, you should see the bands staring at me when I unconsiously start swinging mic-cables around me)
and also all the things mentioned before in this thread.

most stupid thing done:
picked up a big pointy rock and a piece of electrical wire to play around with while waiting on a deserted parking lot with a big pile of bricks that we needed to get to town.
having only one piece of string it seemed like the perfect time to practice new moves with hand and body transgressions. untill i hit myself in the head while doing a 720 degree spin and had to walk 20 minutes (I have no mobile phone) with a heaavily bleeding eyebrow to find a chipshop to get some napkins to use as bandages.

When I get bored at school I'll spin earbuds while sitting in my seat...theyre really light but keep me entertained. If it werent for all the odd looks I get I would do it more often probably. Keys/USB drive on lanyards are fun too. I found out extension cords hurt like a b*tch though...

I had arrived at a friends BBQ and realised i'd left my poi sitting on the bed at home.
I was DEVISTATED! mad
Too far to go back, i rummaged thru his garage,
found rope...(10mm) and 2 skate board wheels. Big yellow ones. Ah HUH!
Looped them thru. They were very heavy not to mention the rope burn.
But i soon fixed that by wrapping various coloured electrical tape to protect my fingers,
then realising this would also add a great design element and continued wrapping to the ends....
Hung some more electrical tape from the skate board wheels like tails..... laugh3
I was so pleased. They were beautiful. I poi'd all night long. 8) clap
