A comment Pele said in the thread about being shy at PIP made me think.
Depsite doing a lot of perofrming, practice and busking, I hardly ever see other poeple performing.
Sure I see a bit of juggling poi staff etc etc at the various clubs I get along to. However most of these clubs are far more social than skill-based.
This means, I very rarely actually see a full-on performance, or more than afe % of what others I meet are capable of. Even when they are doing a lot fo stuff, I tend to be practicing myself, so i hardly notice...
Not really sure where I'm gpoing to with this, but it is something tjhat has really got me thinking. Am I missing out on a lot of things because I'm usually doing all th eperforming and practice, rather than sitting down and watching??
But it's so hard not to get up and do it all the time.
Does anyone else have any other thoughts on this aspect?

why not take the time to go and see as many proffesional shows as you can?
I regularly go and watch circuses, dance, cabarets, street shows etc.
get outside the poi 'box' and go seek inspiration elsewhere.

The problem with that, Axis, is that those are the times I'm usually performing.
Weekends and Friday nights make up a almost all of my gigs, so I seldom get the chance to have any time off then (usually travelling to and from each gig takes a while too).
When i do, I normally go home and sleep.
Admitedly, I've been taking every gig I can find while saving for the wedding (5 days to go!), so maybe after the honeymoon, i can try to chill out a bit more.
Have to divide my time up for myself and my wonderful angel as well though (I don't mind, in fcat really looking forward to it).
