I've been juggling clubs for a while.

but now I have left the confinds of London. And I'm of for a trip a round the world. ubbloco juggle clap bounce2 bounce

As im not in the greatness of the London juggling and spinning clubs. I thought that I would start this of to keep up with you lot.

And to keep you informed of what is out there in the big wide world.

So the latest moves that I am working on are.

1 Flats:

most of all im trying to do flat back cross.

But also 522 combos with one of the 2's caught under the leg

also box and 441's

2 stalls:

Im trying all type of stalls on different places, feet legs, shoulder and the chin.

do you have any more to add to this.

that I could be trying

yeah, that's just so people think you're different to the rest of us.

besides, it doesn't really suprise me - *everyone* loves an underdog...

if you truly love him, you would go to the WORLD JUGGLING FEDERJASON convention and join the queue to pay him even more money to attend his workshops in which he will do a poor impression of gatto's juggling, make some variable quality jokes and demand that you all get on your knees and take it from the master wink

whatever you do though, don't take poi with you - let alone 6 or you'll be lynched!

i think it comes down to the old argument of:
performance vs technical ability

gatto's technical ability is unequalled today, but his performance is uninspired and doesn't appear to have changed noticably in twenty odd years (judging by all the videos i've seen, apart from adding an extra ball here and there, or making a trick a bit harder).

garfield however has multiple incredibly funny evolving stage acts that have a lot of variety and comedy to them, where he appears to be making fun of himself more than anyone else.

gatto takes himself and what he does very seriously.

garfield pretends to take himself and what he does seriously, but with his every action shows that he doesn't.

and i'd love to go the wjf (as, i expect, you would to), although i'd be unable to not do poi for that long so i would probably receive a serious beating. why not get a group of us together, then we'd stand a better chance in a fight?

compare "to be the best" (gatto) with "juggle master 2000" (garfield).

to me "juggle master 2000" is far more inspiring to watch. garfield combines technical ability with comedy and showmanship. whereas, in "to be the best" gatto combines technical ability with having his head stuck up his own butt (the annoying thing is, even in said position he could probably still juggle five balls better than me frown).

Good Luck! I think JG was invited to the BJC at Brighton a couple of years ago on one condition - that he and Luke have a fight, i think it was after LB said something to rub him up on RDJ.

Anyway going on with the JG vs AG debate, i think for me it's always going to be AG purely because

He was there first
He doesn't think he's in the WWF
He is a better juggler

And i don't rate JG as a juggler. Ok so i've not seen JG perform but i have seen one of his videos, not sure which. I've seen both AG's TBTB vids, and as cheesy and crap as they are at least he doesn't sprout out about what a great juggler he is to all the juggling community.

The other reason i don't like JG is because he is constantly acting like a bitch in a farce. AG won the golden clown boot and stopped competing. After competing for so long i can't blame him.

Shame, TD could go up to JG and say how much better he is than him. It's also a shame JG acts like such a twat all the time especialy online. I get the feeling JG has nothing better to do, whereas AG does.

PS 2bags i saw DSads do luke's lobotomy and i think your version is correct after all. spank spank for me.

gggrrr... i want lukes labotomy,

The thing is though, that really... at the end of the day... all things weighed up in equal measure, with just a hint of spice...

It doesn't even make any difference what so ever who the best juggler on the planet is, i have yet to see either of them do a mill's mess pattern, and as yet i am unsure as to whether or not either can do anything interesting with 3 balls. No offence to the guys, but the whole arguement stinks.

And the final part is, that if you stood the two of them next to each other and invited joe public to appraise the two of them thoroughly, he wouldn't even care who was the best.

Is being the best what its all about? Is the WJF just an advert for jasons book? why didn't thomas dietz win? does gatto really take himself that seriously? If you put a cat in a box how would you know if it was dead?:-)

that's sort of my point and sort of not my point (or maybe it is and i don't want to admit it).

i'd bet good money that considerably more of the general public would enjoy a jason garfield show than an anthony gatto show even though i think gatto is a better technical juggler. garfield performs and evolves his performances whereas gatto just juggles (and occasionally juggles a bit more).

i know exactly what you're saying hex about garfield looking like he'd fit in seeminglessly with the wwf and that's an excellent description. but the wwf gets more people watching it then say just normal wrestling. wwf is a way of presenting wrestling that makes it more entertaining.

although it's an unfair comparison, because i hate wwf and wouldn't consider a wwf-type wrestler to be better than someone who does wrestling "properly". the difference being that i wouldn't consider wwf intelligent entertainment, whereas i would consider garfield's shows to be clever, original presentations of juggling.

reading back these posts it makes it sound like i'm infactuated with him. i'm certainly not saying he's the best juggler ever (or even that incredible), i'm just saying i prefer him to gatto. i prefer some of luke burrage's routines to garfield's because the ideas behind them are even cleverer. guy heathcote also rocks largely. vickor kee's dralion routine is amazing, but i'll only truly respect him if i see other awesome routines from him, and michael moschen does one or two routines that make me want to mate with him (or though his choice of costume can sometimes be misguided, so he'd have to let me dress him in the mornings).

It's all about Thomas Dietz. His videos are just crazy. One video has a dropless 6 minute 5 ball routine, very swish. He's one of the few people who can do 7777777db975317777777 etc, and all those random throw-ins from Mark Probst.

Anthony Gatto is like a walking animated juggling machine. "Hey gatto, juggle 7 balls" - and he'll do so for so long, you'd think you're watching the famous little ball stickman juggling 7 red dots...

Jason Garfield, he's just cocky as heck.

Jason is just a big headed american twat. and if you see him or know him, give him my number so I can tell him so.

DIETZ = GOD
no one juggles like him. and after seeing his show 3 times last week, I want his kids.

But one day I will be as good as them all, and you can all come and bow befor me

B4 we move to far away from the subject has anyone got the hypo7ball routine of gattos to play.

my general thoughts on the matter is Gatto's seem abit f*ing good but boring both in juggling style and his internet site, Jason not half as good as he thinks and abit of a twat but quite amusing none the less and Dietz is a big fluffly tedy bear.

Maybe I should change this too something abit nicer, humm no I still think your all Ccensoredt

well that's kind of random. just what sort of a company is that, cole? i like the way that they presume most of their customers are either going to be engaged in designing windows or making armies of daleks to take over the world with.

they are a very interesting company is what they are mr girlfriend...

seems thay are like this company in terms of the products they manufacture but they are based in the uk, obviuosly well used to requests from weirdo specialist hobbyists (like replica dalek makers for example) and they also mention that another material they can produce balls in is silicone.

this means they may be receptive to my request for information on some silicone balls in a small size (between 1 3/4 and 2").

as i am also interested interested in getting hold of filled stage balls, big acrylics and maybe even some 2.75" sillies (if their manufacturing process is good enough), it made sense to remember them and email them.

which i've just done smile

I have some of those separating ones, I dont have a use for them. Plus they are polystyrene = structurally crap like CD cases, so they don't want to be dropped.

As for who would win between AG and JG.
Laughs
They already both did.
All publicity is good publicity, You'll debating it on every forum is perfect for both of them.
the probably correct answer is C someone else.

out of four recent emails i've sent regarding balls, only one person replied.

his name is uri and he is from israel and is very nice smile

serious juggling, passe passe and this company have yet to prove their worth umm

as for who would win between ag and jg.
i reckon jg would win in a straight no-weapons fistfight but ag's casino security guards would throw jg's butlins holiday performing-ass out of there before he even gets near
the front row...

price i got from that company for 100mm was: £54.00 p&p extra + vat

incidentally, you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find 50mm bouncy balls.
45mm easy, 60mm are get-able but 2" bouncy balls don't seem to exist in this world...
dammit.
