Posted:I've been juggling clubs for a while.

but now I have left the confinds of London. And I'm of for a trip a round the world. ubbloco juggle clap bounce2 bounce

As im not in the greatness of the London juggling and spinning clubs. I thought that I would start this of to keep up with you lot.

And to keep you informed of what is out there in the big wide world.

So the latest moves that I am working on are.

1 Flats:

most of all im trying to do flat back cross.

But also 522 combos with one of the 2's caught under the leg

also box and 441's

2 stalls:

Im trying all type of stalls on different places, feet legs, shoulder and the chin.

do you have any more to add to this.

that I could be trying

Posted:there's a few anomolies there jon...

the numbers actually represent how long it is before that ball is thrown again - the throw heights are an analogy of this.

a 3 is thrown and has three beats to wait before it is thrown again.

therefore for any trick we can write the pattern repeatedly and follow the path of each individual ball.
if no balls need to be thrown at the same time (ignoring multiplexes at the moment), then the siteswap is juggleable.

example below picking each of the three balls in turn and seeing where they go in the pattern:

531531531...
5315315...
531531...

so as there are no balls landing in the same hand at the same time, we know 531531531531... is a valid siteswap.

we write siteswaps as the shortest repeatable sequence: so 531531531... becomes just '531'; the 3 ball cascade is just '3'.

multiplexes are written in square brackets (with no comma's) like this: 7121[75]1

you should ignore numbers with crosses as they are only used in sync siteswap which has different rules to async ('vanilla') siteswap.

you can start with your right hand or your left hand, as long as you alternate r-l-r-l-r-l-r-l... for the entire siteswap sequence.

like you said though jon, the best thing about them is they let you do what you like with hand position, catch type, catch position and so on, making siteswaps very versatile for creating interesting pattern variations.

what i have discovered recently is that you can play around with the heights of the throws, the heights of your catches and the dwell time (how long you hold onto a ball) to mess around with your siteswap patterns too.

its why the rhythm of 441 with the 1 btb is so different - throwing high 4's while having a much longer dwell time on the 1 ball makes the pattern fit perfectly and gives you the extra time you need to do the 1 in a difficult position.

i heart siteswap.

very very silly

or

very very cool

I side with the former.

and besides..it would take Cole ages to grwo his hair long enough to dread...

and I dont think they would liek it much at work..

you, Martin, on the other hand....have both the necessary hair, and no job.

Therefore you should hereby get dreads.

either track down blonde dreadlock girl in the above picture (i'd highly recommend you do that in fact - she has lots of cool consoles and she isn't very ugly either) or find yourself a different gurl that doesn't mind you're a smelly, juggling hippy? wink

and mech - that's not a geeky, that's being a work-a-holic.

the umlaut is yours (u sold separately).

but if i find you trading on the french black market again, trying to pass off my umlaut as a diaeresis i'll have you up infront of the eu accent standards commission before you can say 'holy circumflex'.

Umlauts are German...

There is no market for them in Frnace..

and im suprised that a man of your stature didnt realise I fobbed you off with an acute accent instead of a Grave wink

and there is a vibrant black market trade in modified umlauts throughout france, spain and wales (as you well know).
no market for them you say?!!!??

what about all the words that use a diaresis?

wouldn't be a very happy nel without them would it...?

you want to chat about colons and umlauts, do it in your own space.

now that you have been told, I dont want to hear any more about it.

so to day after months of trying I got [6x,4] [4,2x]
and at the weekend I got 2 new diabolos. so I guess I now have to learn how to do them.

After 7 days of Bristol madness I am officially knackered.

And in love with rings instead of the normal balls.

Working on 645 with the 6 as a pancake.
Also 633 with 6 as pancake.
Got 423 and 55500 as pancakes.
Also just got (tonight!) 441 in 90 throws running.

martin - (6x,4)(4,2x) should be a doddle for you - do you juggle it different to how you do your (6x,4)(0,2x)?

will - sorry i missed brizzle frown
i saw some pictures of you last night and you were dressed very much like a clown - i chose to ignore them wink
did yoo see my new pictures in my gallery here...?
441 in wallplane is sick - norbi's website is great for ring tricks - either him or michael karas (can't remember which) has a video of a wicked 441 variation with arms through a ring.

i've just started working on head rolls and chin balances with clubs and balls.
still can't do 744 or 64 solidly out of 5 yet - must get house with higher ceiling... rolleyes

Posted:Hello there munkees

I started doing 441 with clubs with the 4's in wallplane.
But it was very hard, so I started learning inverse cascade in the wallplane.
Which helped.

I also been learning tomahawk cascade with clubs. Which is reeally nice.

I have dreadlocks. And so does my bird.
But she has no consoles.
But Weasel is gonna bring his N64 to our house. If Adam lets him. He says they aint no good.

Recently I caught 531 with clubs all behind me back. Been practicing doing the 31 as backcross and a pass, that was good, then threw a really high backcross and did the 31 backcross pass business. I was chuffed.

I havn't juggled clubs for days 'cos I had to move house and start Uni and generally not be a dosser, which sucked.

But I have been learning snakes and arm rolls and isolations and the like, 'cos there are billions of these acrylic balls rolling round my house now.

Which was nice smile
