U tell a riddle. Basic Rules. Guess it. He/she/thing who guesses correctly wins and tells the next one...

I'll start.

When it is broken, it still works.
Beating pains it not...

bit small and crappy, but a bit hard.

The existance of flamethrowers says that someone, somewhere, at sometime said "I need to set that thing on fire, but it's too far away."

where'd you find that definition? Gry isn't a word according to the webster's dictionary.

Mt. Everest was still the tallest, it doesn't matter if it was discovered or not.

yeah, and a few others (I actually checked several). Maybe it is a riddle that only works for american english?

and there are entire websites devoted to this riddle too, which do not ever once mention "gry" as a word

Both vanize & morph guessed right...it's 11.

Vanize's riddle never asked for another word that ends in gry though. It just mentioned there were 2 words that did so.

So...

Do you switch doors?

Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.

seems he did ask for that third word spritie.

actually no - it never says anything about 3 words that end with "gry". it only says "three words in 'the english language'". The first 2 sentances are distractors only and have nothing to do with the riddle other than to throw you into thinking in the wrong direction.

a pedantic riddle if ever there was one! ubbloco

The Monty Hall Problem:

You on a game show and have reached the final stage, you're just minutes away from winning the star prize, a car, or a boobie prize, a camel.

Monty Hall, your host, gives you the choice of three doors to open. Behind one is the car, behind the other 2 are camels. You pick one of the doors but Monty doesn't open it yet. Instead he opens one of the others doors revealing a camel. He then offers the choice of opening the door you orginally chose or open the remaining closed door.

So.. Do you switch doors? And does it matter?

Give me a lever long enough and a place to stand and I can beat the world into submission.

This is evil... because statistically, if you change you have better odds of getting the car, right? Because your first choice had 33% chance of being right, and now your choice has 50% chance of being right.. so you should swap?

I did this in Logic but I can't for the life of me remember if I'm right!

What a wonderful miracle if only we could look through each other's eyes for an instant.

I know this has been solved but here is another word ending in gry, Aggry.
Applied to a kind of variegated glass beads of ancient manufacture; as, aggry beads are found in Ashantee and Fantee in Africa.
