How many words can you get inside a sentence one after the other, all having the same amount of letters.

1 point will be awarded per consecutive word

Points will be awarded for combos (must follow directly after a run, see e.g. 1)

Extra points for words beginning with the same letters, see e.g. 1)

a reasonable attempt at puncuation must be made (if the sentance does not make sense to everyone then its not a sentance)

1 letter (+combo)...

I, a word with one letter. (2 one letter words + 2 four letter words= 4 points + 1 combo point + 2 same letter points = 7 points)

Two letters...

.....between the three of us as it is us that are.... (6 two letter words= 6 points + 2 same letter words = 8 points)

Three letter words...
.
.
Four letter words...

A Panda bear eats, shoots and leaves.... (2 four letter words = 2 points and a funny sentance)

..
..
Ten letter words...

I wrote an email this morning and realised I accidently wrote 6 two letter words in a row.

So grew my plan to take over the world with letter counting games.... biggrin

4*2 letter words 4pts
2*3 letter words, 2 pts

Judge Rules:

The full stop makes two sentances.

First sentance = 10 points

Second Sentance=6pts

You still number one with 10pts, Any challengers?

Hint

The word 'and' can be written down thirteen times in a row in a sentence and still make sense.

Judge Rules

No Alternates.

I also think I should define the combo rule as only applying when one succesfully transitions from one run of at least two to another run of at least two. 1 transition = 1 point

It is when your eyes feel very sore from that game with many four and two lettered words, that you can tell that it is time to do some poi.

2 two letters, 12 four letters, 2 three letters, 2 three letters, 2 four letters, 2 two letters, 2 two letters, 4 combos, 3 same letter bonuses = 31! (I think?)

you dont win but I will award you extra points for thinking of nothing else but yourself for the entire sentance.:)

Rouge

just make a sentance. if two words in a row have the same amount of letters you get two points. if they start with the same letter you get another two points. If you can make two words in a row with two letters then another two in a row with three letters you get four points plus one point for making a transitiion. is this getting any clearer. If you make another sentance with two, two letter words beginning with t and then right after those two words you have three, three letter words words also beginning with the letter t, you would get two points for the two, two letter words, three points for the three, three letter words, five points for having five words in a row all beginning with the same letter and one point for making a transition. That would give you eleven points!!! smile

so if i can get two, ten but not one word that has got the proper number of letters, then cash, dosh and the kudos will soon claim me, and the mind that is my own will stay sane once more, even if only for yet another day or so?

err, thats 47, by my reckoning. could be wrong, though.

and if that formatting makes it too hard, i apologise, but it took me heaps long, sitting there typing out all the [i ]s and stuff, so its staying :P

and, for a different perspective on the scoring system:

for example

the cat sat on the mat

would, i think, be worth 5 points, as 'the cat sat' is a group of 3 three-letter words, and 'the mat' is a group of 2 three letter words.

for combos and stuff:

'toot toot' this tram told them

would be worth:

6 points for same number of letters

6 points for all starting with the same letter.

to do, that will often nearly be enough

would be worth:

2x2 letter = 2

2x4 letter = 2

transition b/w 2 and 4 letter = 1

2x5 letter = 2

transition b/w 4 and 5 letter = 1

=8 points

Ado, please correct me if i am wrong on any of those points. thanks smile

Basically, string as many words together that have the same number of letters in them, and have it all make sense. thats it in a nutshell.
