I saw the bootlegged version last night. I won't ruin it for anyone, but I will say that there is some pretty impressive (and beautiful) sword work, including some two-handed sword fighting.

The movie sucks, but the effects are stupendous.

totally! we're both there! so does anyone know why, in fact, obi-wan takes the hit from vader? something to do with retribution for something yet to happen? anyone? nerds who've read the books?
and jeez, i forgot to bitch about the mom thing! why didn't mr. pu$$y in a wheelchair call anakin, a friggin jedi, when his wife was stolen? and did anakin never call home? they don't have 1-800-collect in the future? dial a slave? if so, then it's his fault for never calling, not for being "too weak!" punk! call yo mamma!

The reason which Cliegg Lars ( Mr Pu$$y, as you so nicely put it) was unable to contact Anakin is because Tatooine is not governed by the republic but rules soleyby the Hutts and he believed that the Jedi must sever their family ties. When Tusken Raiders ambush the nearly defenseless settlers who attempted to rescue Shmi, Cliegg Lars' leg is cut off by a lethal trick-wire. Refusing to be fitted with a mechno-leg, Cliegg is confined to a power chair.

"A million deaths are not enough for huey!"
the Betrayal of Arrakeen, Imperial Year 10,191 was a minor twist in a larger saga of the Awakening of the scattered Chakobsa tribes - the Fremen by the Dune Messiah Paul Muad'Dib Atriedes by his shortening of the path (Lisan Al-Gaib) of the perfect human, the Kwisatz Haderach (a machination of the Bene Gesserit Order)
The first four chapters, (and yes, dune has 3 prequels - all involving quite bloody conflicts) essentially focus on the rise of the fremen jihad across the inner Imperium. Starwars Attack of the clones, on the other hand focuses on rather the downfall/subjugation of a failing republic. Arsn, I'd like to know where you got the substatantial back story behind the characters, as it certainly isn't presented to the viewer.

think also od the pickup lines!
"Tell me of your homeworld, Usul!"
(after battle)

sounds much nicer than:

"I don't like sand, it gets everywhere, it annoys me it's rough, but not here, everything is smooth"
(cops a feel)

Dune has more culture *and* David Lynch
But Starwars has Bounty Hunters and Massive Merchandi$ing
Long live the fighters!

And one more thing... you said "they don't have 1-800-collect in the future?"... at the begining of each movie it starts off with...

Long ago in a galaxy far far away...

1-800-collect hasn't even been thought of yet... duh...
