I got burned on my leg tonight! some how i got fuel on my sock so when i lit up and started spinning (mind you it was a public performance too!) my sock caught on fire and i couldn't put it out fast enough. I am now the proud owner of a very painful and large blister just above my left ankle. redface

Ahhhh...the memories...the of the first bad burn....*sigh*

ubblol I remember mine like it was only yesterday!

Was at a party twirling fire and left my equipment for two minutes to go wash my hands and so the equipment could cool down...came out and some brats had got all my equipment and lit them all without and fuel....when I came at the brats most of them dropped my equipment and ran (I never thought I was that scary but apparently I am when I am pissed off) this one brat threw my poi at me...it wrapped nicely around my wrist and tangled. Nasty nasty couldn't get it off quick enough.

Hurt a hell of a lot so I sympathise...

Run lots of cold water over it.

Don't pop the blister!!!!

Poor thing.

Soak it in warm salt water then if it is popped....also I suggest betadine and covering it up with a bandaid or bandage of some form.

Though make sure the bandage isn't going to stick to the wound.

Sweet. Cheers Dr M, hope i never need to use it. Only ever singed myself. Which is quite bizarre given the amount of times I've tangled around my arms and legs doing silly wraps.

Ouch! I've never gotten a serious burn (Knock on wood.)

What the heck fuel were you using?

I use lamp oil and wrap my socks all the time without any problem. Hrmm...

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

I use white gas. it wasn't a wrap i was doing. I was doing some realy slow spinning and the lit poi grazed my sock. the only thing i can figure is right before i went to spin off i must have grazed my sock with the freshley soaked poi.

yuckies. hugs and get better soon. i remember my first (and only so far *knocks on head, er i mean wood*) burn...not fun

and ya, i print out a number of the articles here to keep with me for burns. kept a few copies of the fire breathing one in a couple of different places so i'd always have it

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.
