A lot of stuff is good about Australia, people are nice, weather can be warm or cool depending on where you choose to live (so choose well;)), food is very, very good (especially in Melbourne).

Some of the things you need to think about:

Visas - for basic information go here

Study - check out the universities & see the intakes/courses available etc.

Rental prices - check out Domain and flatmates.com

Hope that gives you a good starting point

The beer is great - personal opinion of course.

There are some top fire-performers here. As I am sure there are everywhere in the world. But where I have traveled too, and what I have seen, we have a very high standard of fire-twirling.

The weather, depending where you are is usually pretty nice. But it can get to be stinking HOT!!

There are some decent Trance and Psy-trance parties and collaborations. If you are into this scene Sydney has a really strong culture in Psy-trance. Melbourne isn't bad either, but it is much colder down there, and there are less outdoor parties.

As for fire-twirling you can pretty much find it in all of the capital cities. I hear that Brisbane has a strong fire-culture, and I know Sydney has a pretty strong one *waves to the wick effect crew* Melbourne too.

Umm that’s all I can think of at the moment.

Ok Brissie is great... we have awesome weather and the gold coast is only 30 mins away if you need a 'hottie' fix...
The thing I love the most about Australia is the people, they are the most friendly laid back people that you could ever meet ( unless you get them into a Four X or V.B discussion about which beer is best, then things can get a little nasty)
So I think that wherever you choose to go in Aussie that you have made a good choice...Sydney is really on a city pace... very fast, people always seem to have places to be and they are pretty much running to get there... Brissie is a lot more of a slow pace with quite a few beautiful little hippies running around on the outer suburbs... one thing I must say is get used to being teased about your accent... aussie blokes have a fascination with them... Im constantly being asked to say '6'.... must have something to do with my kiwi accent... lol
Take it from me being a resettled "boarder jumper"
Australia is the best place to live and Im glad Im here...

Brizzie does have some nice men-folk. Some of them can even cook, and are nice to their mums!!!

Sydney men can have delusions of grandeur. They tend to believe they should all be dating supermodels. However there are still some very nice boys around.

Melbourne men? One word - style
Additional words - they wear a lot of black, and they read stuff and they like smart women. Mmmmmm, Melbourne men
