The flight is about 6-7 hours. In general, flights depart in the late morning, UK time, and arrive in the mid-afternoon, US Eastern Time.

Then you'll probably land at Newark at about 20:00 Local time.

my flight took 6 hours to new york which wasn't so bad, and frickin' 9 hours back. Are you going with virgin? you get strange old saga games to play with biggrin or at least you did when i went.

Your flight itinery (not ticket) will tell you what time you arrive. Or look it up on a travel web site.

Don't know about places to stay in Newark. There will probably be vaguely cheap motels around the airport next to big roads with nothing of interest near them. And I know there's train from the airport to Manhattan where you could get a hostel and then presumably a train from there or a plane from anywhere.

Try hostelworld, there's a link off Lonely Planet if this doesn't work.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

Wait... when is this? What are you doing? Who are you? How old are you?

Don't forget. New York is the 'City that never sleeps' for a reason. You can throw your stuff in a locker, go clubbing all night, pick your stuff up in the morning and hit the bus terminal with a big grin on your face.

Newark is a $40 cab ride from Manhattan, and the wrong way from Philly. Explain to me better your situation (when you need to be where and why) and I'll have more to say.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

I agree with NYC. Don`t waste any time in Newark. There is a shuttle from airport to the Penn Station where you can find a train to PA or go to Manhattan in 20 mins. to have the night of your life which I would do ubbrollsmile

This will be 26th June, am off to teach circus to special needs adults, yay, in PA. I am unfortuanally only 18 so i guess clubbing is really out of the picture.

I need to be in Pottsville PA as soon as i can after i land, but i will have a gud 22 hours between when i land and the bus setting off from NY so i need to have something to do in between.
