Did anyone see Cousins last night on Channel 4 (UK)? An entire programme full of monkeys, lemurs and primates with some of the funniest soundbites ever heard in a nature programme! it's on for the next few weeks on thurs nights so make sure you watch it next week. for those of you that missed out i'll give you a quick run through....

This weeks programme was on the Lemur family.

This is a slow loris isn't a slow loris but it's pretty close (a tarsier). they cover their babies in poisonous spit to protect them https://www.primates.com/tarsier.htm
"this babie's armed and dangerous"

These things (Sifakas) skip crazily across the floor. https://www.primates.com/lemurs/sifbab.html
"once a few get going the others find it hard to resist"..bounce2 bounce bounce2

And these are the most quality of all, Black Lemurs. Only the males are black. Too attract a female... https://www.primates.com/lemurs/blacklemur.html
'He woos her with his anal gland' (!!!!!!) eek

This is a female who sucks crushed millipede juice and 'can't get enough of it' https://www.primates.com/lemurs/black-lemur.html

'it seems humans aren't the only ones who wish to experimant with intoxicants'. i can see where she's coming from with his chat up technique... peace

and finally the ring tailed lemur. these females seem to be wise to such irresistable charm and 'are only willing to mate for once a year for a few hours' https://www.primates.com/lemurs/ring-tailedlemur.html
no wonder dude's looking put out...

Watch it next week!

Edit: The images aren't working so you'll have to follow the shortcuts!
