Could've sworn I posted something about this like 2 months ago, but I can't find it so I'll try again smile

While getting down with my drummer friends, I began to move my weave in a different way - upon reflection, I realize I was changing the angles and adding more planes around my body. I slipped from a normal square plane layout (four planes, 90º angles) to a hexagonal one (six planes, 60º angles).

I imagine pentagons and triangles work too, though I haven't played with them...

Thoughts, vids? wink

Aren't triangles arashi's trinity things? There's probably been tons written about them if you search... although I'm sure most of it is arguing about terminology lol biggrin

thinking inside the box is what mimes do, and therefore is not to be trusted.

incidentally, i got shown an atomic weave the other day (one poi wheel plane, one poi wall plane). It looked really cool cool

but atom moves stay in constant planes, the defining characteristic of this Trinity type stuff is changing plane in a constant pattern, i think...

Changing planes in a clean and controlled way is something i'd really be interested in hearing more about.

it's okay, all monkeys hairypalm at some stage of their development and are often forced to talk to themselves due to the combined effects of loneliness and banana psychosis.

so simian, you are sane.

unless you are a human pretending to be a monkey in which case you should be immediately sectioned and fed peanuts until your elephant alter-ego takes over.

No one's all about the hexagons? I'm particularly partial to them because the planes are still parallel, and the angles being so small makes three planes (not including those angled ceiling planes) available with the slightest swivel. Some simple, fun things I've found (no wraps, air-wraps, or even btb involved!) include...

Adding more and less points that you touch on while keeping in the hexagonal plane form. Like in basic form, you can go back and forth between two points, but you can also add in a third, then maybe a fourth and fifth, complete a full revolution, etc.

Turning on various axis. Usually when we turn 360º, all the planes we hit are parallel to our bodies. In hexagonal form, there are more options open! There are numerous straight line plane progressions around the body at various tilted angles.
