ill start with a wee bit off a story..
i was camping down in margret river.(south of perth, western australia) when i saw the light( so to speak) the light was from fire poi. instantly i was intruiged. i had to ask this guy what he was doing and how etc. so i tottled over to his camp site and sed g'day as ya do in australia, and asked him what he was doing. he toldme about poi and where they are from and he also told me about this website. i was all like cool i you you and your poi. i got his name. it was ryan. he is from zimbabwe and i just wanna thank him for pretty much changing my life.
i was so excited watching him. then he passed me some practise poi and showed me the weave. i pulled it of pretty much straight away. which i was happy about. i asked him for a lil demo again so i could go back to my camp. so he lit ewm up and had a spin. i washooked. i had to do this when i got home. then he passed the lit onestome and im just like. "woohoo hold up i dont wanna burn me self" then i done the weave man and was it a rush. afterwards i was so hypo. i needed to tell everyone.
the point to this post is to see if his out there anywhere as i wanna thank him and show him pictures of me doing what he introduced me to. it really was a life changing event.
so if you out there and ya names ryan and ya from zimbabwe and your tall with kinda long hair and wear out there, sweet as shirts. PM me!!!

I remember Ryan, he came down to south beach a few times while he was in Perth - I know he posts/ed on here, thats how he found our gathering i think...
Try a search for zimbabwe and freo maybe to find the old posts he did when he was coming here? Can't remember what he logged on as, think he had an email address attached to it??

Cool CB, glad to hear that poi have entered your life in such a good way. Just checked emails and things of that nature now, you should have one from me. Sorry it took so long to see, i can only get on the net every now and again due to work...
What are you working on at the moment? If you can, get over to South Beach on a Monday, they are a great bunch, and its by far the best way to learn. I learnt more there in two weeks than I can work out by myself here in six months.

Greetings Gnorc, long time, trust all is well over in sunny Perth
I'm really missing those Monday night twirls, speed of learning has slowed back down to a miserable crawl without all that inspiration... Thank God for those CD's you burnt, spending hours peering at little videos, instead of full grown people, but its better than nothing!
