yo,

basically its a plane change carry,, remeber how poipoipoi was saying you can make 90 degree plane shifts by quickly moving your hand at the right time? e.g. to go from forwradrs side plane to ceiling plane you move your hand to the middle of the cieling plane circle when the poi reaches the top of the side plane circle. where the two planes intersect. you can have a look at the original thread [Old link] .

well, to go from backwards to forwrads in 1 beat, you do a 90 degree shift to the ceiling plane, then after half a circle of ceiling plane you do another 90 degree shift back down to side plane. voila, your going forwrads.

errm. shout at me that you dont understand and ill come back and try again....

yeah.. I've called it plane splitting.. not because it was an appropriate name.. just because it feltlike I was breaking the planes when I did it.. but I mostly used it in wraps as a way of getting from some wrap points to others without spinning circles or hitting the other poi.. also for changing the poi that leads when boucnign wrap patterns..

Interesting... So if I'm butterflying I just take my right hand and do a circle above my head clockwise looking up (like a lasso) and then drop it down in front of me and now they're both going clockwise and I turn my body to the left and I'm doing a reverse weave.

I think I get it.

Where are poi when you need them?! mad

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

Why can't I just drop it down in front of me? I agree that behind would work too...

i think cos it would be half a horizontal circle less into the plane transition if you drop it behind?

also it makes it easier to have one in front one behind so you don't immediately have to start a weave motion.

unless i don't get this at all ubblol wink
