Yeah, we've definately got some nice women in Britain.
According to some people I've spoken with, we've also got a strange sense of humour, we're always sarcastic and we're all expected to have afternoon tea.

And you're supposed to be ever so polite and patient with people that you can't stand to be around, the quiet suffering and all that.
And you English do have a much diffirent sense of humour (than Americans, at least). Your humour is dry and subtle, consisting mainly of witty remarks, and pointed comments, while American humour is ususally really crass and obvious, and most of the time is really dumbed down for the slower folk.

There are some butt ugly people in this country. Thousands of years of inbreeding has only led to some very very ugly people..
Of course, many of them have good bodies with not so great faces, while there's an overwhelming amount of fat people in north america. Obescity is supposedly the number one health risk in america today.
Anyways, none of the girls I met through poi could fit into any of those categories.. It has always seemed to me to be another community of beautiful people.

There is a horrible trend emerging in British women which is dragging the nation down. There seems to be an enormous amount of "drink-20-alco-pops-and-dance-to-rubbish-all-night" girls who are dragging the male population down with them; in order to appeal, the male population has to frequent these horrible, over commercialised, pretentous bars and ply said women with said alco-pops to forward their genetic code. Please, please, please ladies - STOP! Get some quality music taste, get some clothes that don't make you look like the town bike and while you're there, get a life.
I know there are women who will not fit into the above, and for my generalisation I apologise, but I would just love to find one town in this country that shows a 100% success rate in breeding cool people (tall order I know). The kind of people who don't power drink all night and then finish the night off with a kebab and a fight, before returning home and beating their wife/girlfriend before bed. The Kind of people who don't leech and lear at your girlfriend - even though is blatanetly obvious she's not interested. The kind of people who don't judge you by the tacky label on your over-priced low level designer shirt. The kind of people who don't go around in a gang of 10 and beat someone to within an inch of their life, steal their girlfriends phone and cash and leave them bleeding in the street - just becasue he comes from another country...and the kind of people who won't stop to help a bleeding man on the street.
I could go on forever. I just hope the biggotry and prejudice doesn't.
It all stems from the alco-pop girls - please stop it ladies - the country needs you!

I must admit that travelling around the world has forced me to accept that a lot of stereotypes are true. For example the English, whereever they are in the world do talk about the weather!!! As Jangla points out, the Beer-Boy culture is rife and makes me avoid pubs and town centres at night. The place is full of men wearing Ben Shermans trying to look like David Beckham or Gareth Gates. The majority of girls shop at Bay Trading and are still trying to look like the Spice Girls.
The British tend to be very insular. From how they dress to how they live their lives, ignoring everyone else. You could strip Jordan naked in front of a British businessman on a train, and he wouldn't even register it happening!
The British are really, really jealous and envious. The minute somebody is successful or famous there will be people putting them down and trying to break them. People seem to love to see other people fail.
However the best thing about the UK is that it is multi-cultural, at least it is down south. You get a great mix of cultures and social groups, so there really is something for everyone. I think the British do accept diversity quite well, even if they just choose to ignore it but not interfere with it.

It's very disappointing that the majority of people seem to enjoy living up to our beer boy image. They seem to enjoy drinking far too much and all dressing and acting the same way.

I thought it probably was happening everywhere, it's just something I noticed after coming back from Uni.
The majority of pubs in the centre of wycombe turned into chain pubs that suddenly had a dress code, it really annoyed me.
Anyway, since it's not really a stereotype of the british, I may well delete my last post since I've read it again and it's way, way off topic

One thing that really annoys me about Britain is the young mother thing. In the eigthies, we were bombarded with the safe sex message and although schools still didn't take the bull by the horns, there was a general drop in the number of young mothers, single parent families and STD's. I haven't seen anything at all in about 10 years on the subject and schools are still not providing sex ed. until kids are about 16 and it's too late. The number of times I wlk through town and see girls of 15 and 16 with a kid makes me want to cry - they may be happy with what they have but they have lost the opportunuity to explore their own personalities and experiece life for what it really is becasue they have to pour everything into the child. And becasue of this lack of experience and enlightlenment, they will have nothing to pass onto this child; in all likelihood they will grow up to do the same and the whole viscious circle starts again. A never-ending-self-destructive spiral of unenlightened, emotionally stunted, intellectually sub normal losers - what a nightmare picture I paint but the Brits have the highest teenage pregnancy rate than any other European country - the countries that promote safe sex and tell kids about sex and relationships just after they can walk have a much better outlook on life and yet our government still refuse to make sex ed in schools compulsory - how much evidence do they need!?
Glad I got that lot off my chest - feel much better so I'm off to lunch now - bye!

also, most clubs are filled with kids running around, pissed, going off with old men. thankfully my taste in music doen't appeal to them but its so annoying seeing 13yr olds at the bar in their little skirts! aarrrrggghhh!

obviously been hanging round with the wrong people in the wrong places!... I shouldnt talk being from leicester... I am the oldest person on my street without a kid, and yes there is some serious 'ladism' (both girls and boys) around the town centre...
you can get away from it tho'... choose your friends carefully while youre over here, and everythings pretty cool... I dont think ive seen a fight in leicester since i got here (near 2 years now), but they do happen... just not where I go...
we also have some wicked clubs, with no dress code or associated attitude... come to leicester, look me up, and I will show you (not gonna say "a good time") some cool places with the aforementioned fit women (no comment on the state of the blokes!)...

you can get away from it tho'... choose your friends carefully while youre over here, and everythings pretty cool... I dont think ive seen a fight in leicester since i got here (near 2 years now), but they do happen... just not where I go...
we also have some wicked clubs, with no dress code or associated attitude... come to leicester, look me up, and I will show you (not gonna say "a good time") some cool places with the aforementioned fit women (no comment on the state of the blokes!)...

pps... all you wingers in oxford... my mum and dad live there and thats where i was brought up... i love the place but its too small! save your pennies and go to love bar or thirst... i know there expensive, but it is a wicked laugh, and theres no tension, as everything is just a joke in there (inc. the prices!) and the music is a total trip back to child-hood!... ...bongo's an' all!...

catboy - Thirst is very nice indeed and do some great cocktails...plus the tunes are always good. But there's a number of new places opening up on the Cowley Road that show great potential. Bar Baby does great cocktails and has a really top music policy (a little biased as I will be playing there from the end of next month!) as do Cafe Baba, Kazbaa and a few others. Shame about the location but if these kind of places keep opening the vibe may permeate the place to a fuller extent. Club Genesis is also bringing a little chilled out vibe too with a forward looking, experimental music policy so it is possible to avoid the ladism but I would rather it wasn't there than having to avoid it in the first place.
