Ok. Enjoy! (I havn't tried them yet, but the other recipies in the book were good, so this one ought to be.)
It's a lot of work, but definately worth it.

Cadbury's Creme Eggs

Beat with electric mixer until smooth:
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt

Add 3 cups powdered sugar, one cup @ a time (mix by hand until creamy)

Place 1/3 of mixture in another bowl; stir in 4 drops yellow and 2 drops red food coloring

Refrigerate both portions of mixture for at least 2 hours, until firm

Roll a marble sized ball of the orange filling; cover with twice as much white filling. Form into egg shape; place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Repeat w/ rest of filling

Refrigerate again 3-4 hours

Melt 12 oz. milk chocolate and 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening

Dip centers in chocolate, chill for 1-2 hours, dip again, chill until firm.

Voila! Cadbury eggs!

Or if you are as lazy as i am, just melt loads of chocolate and when it is nice and hot and runny, take a spatula and spread it all around an old easter egg container trying to keep it even. when you have both both halves of your "hollow" egg nice and firm, remove from your "template" and then stick some buttons or malteasers in or summat and then simply put both halves together and then "weld" them with more melted chocolate!
voila: the perfect lazy egg.
I dont actually know if it works because i just made it up. but it sounds good and like it should work so if anyone does try it and it works let me know because i am too lazy to bother trying it out myself.

Custom Bug if your willing to put in the effort you could use the Bugs eggs to help persuade our government to start our monthly Celebration day, which could also involve many many BIG eggses. mmmmmm chocolaty eggy goodness once a month along with loads of booze. i fail to see any kind of flaw in this plan. biggrin
With all this talk of chocolate i might have to go and buy creme eggs for lunch or even try out trillians recipe, but ive only got an hour so i might have to settle for the creme eggs option. mmmmm ubbloco

Flid, you can't get corn syrup at your local supermarket? You've gone in and asked? You're sure? It's a fructose solution, not a drug, for crying out loud!

corn syrup is very hard to find at a retail level in the EU. Have a looksie here:

https://groups.google.co.uk/groups?hl=en&...lr%3D%26hl%3Den

In the US its everywhere. It's like waffle makers. In the US they are everywhere, here i've found 3 so far. One is several hundred designed for cafes. One is cheap/nasty and makes crispy ones. One is cast iron that goes on a hob. We live so much closer to belgium than the US!!

Please, please, please prove me wrong btw, theres various items that i've looked high and low for for ages and being told that everywhere in the US sells them at 1 cent per kilo doesn't help ubbcrying

kewl, thanks for corn syrup! Slightly pricier than in the US (obviously), but at least i get a chance to play now smile

as for waffle machines, they are everywhere in mainland europe. Loads in france. The problem is different voltages, extortionate shipping charges and import duty frown. I will find one one day.......one day......
