it's a phD in nutrition, I believe, and yes, I wouldn't mind giving you a hand.

That woman...gRRRRR. mad

My Mom actually LIKES her. *shudder*

The woman is irresponsible for presenting herself in the manner she does, IMHO. People go to her for advice, and I don't know that she's qualified to give said advice....

nevermind her views on minorities, specifically women and homosexuals.

Dr. Laura Schlesinger. She has a doctorate in nutrition, but had an advice talk show....

She quoted the Bible and called Homosexuality an abomination, based on Leviticus 18:22....

She probably did more damage than good with some of the advice she's given out...

doesn't she advocate that women need to be barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen too? (or some other ridiculously idiotic statement that she probably wouldn't adhere to in her own life). there was some campaign awhile back to send her loads of pictures of gay and lesbian couples kissing. i sent one in of me and my ex-girlfriend kissing biggrin

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

Yah, she essentially said women should be subserviant to men. rolleyes

I don't know if it really happened, but the comment about homosexuality, where she quoted the Bible ended up in a mass mailing, where someone wrote to her asking for advice on other rules laid out in Leviticus. It's rather amusing.

Essentially, the writer asks if we follow the Bible literally regarding homosexuality, then shouldn't we follow the Bible literally with other chapters? I had a copy of it somewhere.

It may just be a hoax, but oh the irony!

biggrin

but yeah...can't stand that woman.

Dr Frodo perhaps? maybe i shall do a doctors degree thingy?

Naaah. PhDs make you totally unemployable (bitterness alert here) though they do have the vague benefit of letting you get a cool title on your switch card.

I recently got membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers which means I'm allowed to put MICE after my name. This, I think is worth more than being a Dr. ever will be.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.
