Quit and be an unemployed bum.

Anyone got any ideas how to handle no money stress???

I used to escape if a day was stressy - I'd disappear into music and que up a favourite cheesy feel-good song. Or just go sit in the quiet room or games room for 10 minutes - basically just to get away from the screen and desk for a bit.

Dunno if any of it'll work for you but....

If possible go for a walk. Walk as slowly as possible and try and clear your mind. Music can help. I know you live in London but notice nature whether you can find a park, a river, the sky or anything like that.

Phone someone you haven't spoken to in ages.

I seldom see my father but the odd time I've had lunch with him I always feel better.

Aerobic exercise....absolutely guaranteed to work. I used to the gym at lunch....mmmm......quiet mind..... ubblove

Strangely I find the internet doesn't help for this one...only serves to remind me that I'm not having fun at work....

I live in a world of infinite possibilities.

all suggestions appreciated smile

apart from Dom's tongue Games room! Games room! umm yea right...

what i actually did was take a looong lunch smile
had a wander around Southwark Cathedral's garden drinking a coffee smile
phoned Jonny Moohaha (who i hadn't spoken to since tuesday. Not sure if that counts as a long time...) smile
bought a birthday card for my mum smile
and shouted at the manager of my job agency because she was deliberately lying to me in order to increase her profits madmadmadmad

it was all going so well till the last bit, i only went in there to pick up my timesheet too...

but actually it really helped blow off some steam in a righteous anger style biggrin

not that i recommend it as a habitual form of stress relief rolleyes

(writing birthday cards to mums seems to be a funky natural prozac too ubbangel)

When reeeeely stressed, I find the best medicine is something childish and completely pointless where you can de-stress with equally stressed mates. Laser quest usually works like a charm... biggrin

Send a prank fax:

- Tape 3 or 4 pieces of paper together end to end

- Write a silly message on one side

- Feed one end into the fax. As it's going through, tape the two ends together so you have a continuous loop of paper going through the machine.

- Walk away & enjoy your lunch break tongue

I get to walk in the lovely grounds around my office and have a bit of a poi spin with my headphones on...

Works wonders for me - but then not every office has a 14th Century landscaped garden biggrin

If you know any yoga, finding a quiet place to do a couple of positions for even 2 minutes works wonders. Also "cigarette breaks" are great. EXCEPT...don't smoke. Just go outside, breathe the air for a few minutes, and go back in. Smart, eh? biggrin
