Haha, I didn't do too greatly but if you are questioning yourself over it... don't let a quiz tell you what you're like... you know who you are, you can change if you want to... otherwise use it how you will!
Mine highlights things i already knew were there... plus I answered based on the mood I'm in now "my mood fluctuates" and so I won't be as dependent or narcissistic tomorrow or what not....

I got Low for everything except this -

Schizotypal
Many believe that schizotypal personality disorder represents mild schizophrenia. The disorder is characterized by odd forms of thinking and perceiving, and individuals with this disorder often seek isolation from others. They sometimes believe to have extra sensory ability or that unrelated events relate to them in some important way. They generally engage in eccentric behavior and have difficulty concentrating for long periods of time. Their speech is often over elaborate and difficult to follow.

OH MY GOD THIS IS ME, I hate being defined!!!! The only deviation is that I am never alone.

hmmm, the test is silly. If you answer yes to any questions it puts you in a category. I ranked low in everything, but moederate in four. You only hafta answer yes to one of the questions to become moderate. For instance answering yes to "Do you occasionally or often dress or act provocatively to gain attention?" ranks you moderate for:

Histrionic

People with histrionic personality disorder are constant attention seekers. They need to be the center of attention all the time, often interrupting others in order to dominate the conversation. They use grandiose language to discribe everyday events and seek constant praise. They may dress provacatively or exaggerate illnesses in order to gain attention. They also tend to exaggerate friendships and relationships, believing that everyone loves them. They are often manipulative.

Just because occassionally you go on protests wearing what is deemed provocotive clothing, you're put into the 'manipulative/constant attention seeking' category, which is just silly.

That's not quite true, flid. I answered yes to that question as well, but was classified as low in histrionic.

Maybe you have to answer two questions yes before it says you are moderate in some category? umm

Either way, it's silly indeed biggrin

yeah...I had a couple of yes answers, but still got low in everything.

It is silly, though, and I wouldn't put a lot of stock into it.

Chances are, I could be a raving lunatic, and skidded in under the radar of that quiz. biggrin

OK...those who know me know I'm not a lunatic.....but...I do claim to be a phreak on some level.....I mean...I play with fire. biggrin

thats the other silly thing about it, it says "have you ever". There's lots of things i did before the age of 10, i'm sure i've faked illness to get attention when around the age of 6, but because of the wording of the question you hafta answer yes.

So according to this test, I'm a little obsessive, and a little scitzo, but other than that, all seems to be well. Actually, the results came back saying that I was borderline insane, but i read the descriptions, and i like my own results a little better.

i have a felling that 'high' doesn't mean you are a lot of that category, maybe just that you are higher risk than normal.

well, that's what mine seemed to be saying - you're ok, but watch these traits in yourself or it could become a problem. I think saying 'high' could have been a mistake, this test could really scare some mainly perfectly healthy people.

i'm officially boycotting this test. but that's just me ubblol i won't bore you all with my ideas about personality disorders. but i will say this, in all honesty, don't try to diagnose yourself with a personality disorder. for one, the test isn't exactly very accurate. and secondly, PDs are NOT something you want to have and boast about. trust me on this one.

oh and coleman, on your diagnosis of yourself, it's impossible for you to be avoidant and dependent at the same time. the two cannot exist at the same time. unless you are a multiple personality.

wait, are you? umm

Cute test for novelty purposes but worthless for actually describing someone. Any time you have a "forced choice comparison" where you have to choose between acting one way or another, it renders a psychological test statistically invalid. As you can imagine, there are dozens of different ways we may choose to act or describe ourselves as depending upon the moment. Yep, I'm a geek psychologist in real life! rolleyes

If you ever want to really test your personality, check out the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI). It has all sorts of validity and realibility checks built into it but on the downside, it takes about an hour and half to finish. There are some really trippy questions in there though (567 questions to be exact)! beerchug

i'm not a big fan of MMPI myself. but i'm generally anti-testing anyhow. i think the only tests i find most useful are projectives tongue

My favorite personality test is Myers-Brigs. Understanding that really helped me understand why some of my relationships work and other don't.

Yeah, a lot of companies are using the MBTI right now. The most recent personality inventory which describes traits instead of behaviors is the NEO-PI-R. It ranks traits on the Big 5 (Negative Emotionality, Extroversion, Openness, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness) and will become huge within the next decade. ubbloco

Pounce, sorry I'm not a therapist though I'd imagine that would be a cool arse job. I'm a corporate whore who selects top leaders (CFOs, COOs...eg. rich bastards) for a very large bank. On the plus side, I get to play on the internet all day and read the posts of all the nice people on this site! I'm currently trying to convince my boss to take up fire poi too. beerchug
