I've been playing a bunch with inside moves such as buzzsaws and it's starting to come together... slowly... BUT I'm finding it much more limiting to do wraps while doing 'inside' moves.

For example, if you asked me to go from a regular weave to a regular butterfly using a wrap, I could name at least 20 places to wrap, all which have a different look and timing to it.

Now let's say I'm in a regular buzzsaw and want to wrap to a buzzsaw weave. I'm only really feelin' the over the shoulder wrap or the between the legs wrap. And they're limited because I can only use the over the shoulder wrap if the poi is coming towards my face and the between the leg wrap if it's going away from my face.

There's got to be something that I'm missing... How can I change the direction of my poi while staying in inside moves?

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

cross arm buzzsaw gives you buzzsaw forearm wraps.

learn the 3bt version of [Old link] and you will get buzzsaw forearm wraps all over the place just by trying to learn it. smile

i learnt a butterfly double buzzsaw forearm wrap from a fairie one summer in north london ubblove

kicks work really well too.

you have to remember nyc, that you still ahve a bunch of places to go... but I have to make buzzsaw weavelike motions... then you can wrap off the thighs and such.. and make weird interweaved wrap patterns..

tracing innerweaved wraps.... that'll turn heads... you can make them airwrap that way... *edit*

I generally use stalls. Having said that I found a really cool wrap the other day. ubblove

From forward buzzsaw, as right hand poi about to move from perpendicular to ground (pointing skywards), move right hand in front of left hand...like right hand about to move to left handside of body. Once they're side by side, you can wrap right poi off bottom of left wrist and left hand poi off the top of right wrist into reverse buzzsaw.

If you speed one of the poi up or down to same time, this motion gives you buttterfly buzzsaw.

yo,

been thinking baout this two, logically, there must be a double and single inside wrap on the forarms but it involves craossing the arms in buzzsaw, something im only just beggining to get. But yeah, will have a little play in kent and see whats happening...

I'm convinced that if I keep playing with the buzzsaw weave motions that it has to be possible to weave all kinds of weird orbits in the buzzsaw.. especially since you can push into a wrap (i.e. the poi is coming for your right foream, well move your forearm into the poi string near the poi head and push it where you need it.. kinda like a carry over (thruwrap?)... I dunno.. my brain is mush right now.. I'm going to have an I/o port failure if I don't chill out.. can't.... say..... no...... to........ poi...

Have you tries a Maori taps? Tap the poi instead of wrapping. Like flex the wrist back and tap agianst forearm or flex the wrist down and tap on the underside of forearm or just tap em against whatever body part. Hope that helps smile

I thought I was the only person in the world that did headbutts to reverse the direction of the poi until I saw the COL4 video. Once I saw that, I figured I was the only person in the world silly enough to do it with fire. Guess that's not true either.

Found a really cool one there the other day.

Start doing a forward buzzsaw. If you point your hands out so they face each other, each circle shortens the poi further. Keep letting them get shorter till they are about to hit your hands.

Now select one poi to move outside it's own arm to un-thru-wrap (it must stay outside as long as you want to keep lengthening). Keep the other poi inside in buzzsaw position and let it recoil wrap and unwrap in buzzsaw position.

Result is shrinking forward buzzsaw to growing half butterfly buzzsaw. Slightly imbalanced but there is plenty of stuff to play around the butterfly buzzsaw and having one arm outside, one inside buzzsaw on either side, opposite sides etc...

I live in a world of infinite possibilities.

Do a buzzsaw, then move your hands past each other i.e. so your right hand is to the left of your left hand. If you stop moving your arms now the poi will each wrap on the opposite arm smile

here they are. i have to say i got to these in a weird way -- i learned butterfly first. my suggestion for that one is to start out with an inside butterfly, then cross it through and let it wrap as you pull it back toward uncrossed. that might help out for buzzsaw as well -- cross it all the way, then let it wrap instead of uncrossing it.
