sounds great. ubbidea

you could even have it like the dance mat one, where you would have sensors in your poi and the more moves you get right the more points you get.

Poi... it's an obsession.

There's a hang-gliding sim available. It is nothing like the real thing; no feel of the turblence in the air: no rustle of the canopy: no weight shift or mental input whatsoever. It is downright bloody boring compared to the real thing, which is why I refuse to play it.

Can a computer game ever come near to the burn of your muscles as you spin, the tension involved in pulling off a new move without braining yourself, or the sense of achievement when it happens?

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

I reckon, play computer games or do some spinning, a mixture can never be as good as each on its own!

Southern Comfort and Lemonade mmmmmmmmm tastes like candy.

It would be coolio but I'd need a bigger house to spin poi round on and jamming down all the buttons doesn't seem to work for me. If it became an arcade game wahey.... like you had a black room with a UV light to highlight the movements of the poi. I remember when I used to go to Pandaworld in Skegness and they had this black room and you ran and splatted yourself on the wall and when the UV light came on you could see the pattern you made on the wall.... I miss being a kid, I wanna go back to pandaland!!!!

i think that would a cool idea for a game, but then you also gotta factor in the mainstreaming poi thought (do a search for the threads on this is you wanna hear everyone's argument)

hmmm....

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

tony hawkes is awesome i love his underground game its sweet as but yeah like a twirling game where you spin infront of a board of judges and get points for the moves you pull off. and to get more stuff like fuel and wick and stuff you have to collect points and transfer it into money to buy things.......well something along the lines of that

this is my opinionubbtickled:no it should not be mainstreamed cause inturn it would destroy the uniqueness of spinning. I'm all for people pickin up a set of poi and thinkin to themselves "this is farout, groovy ,and right on!" but,the whole world pickin up a set of poi and then turning it into "the next big thing" not only make poi not unique in it's self but also the people who spin the poi. that was my pinion and i'm stickin to it! tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue tongue

true true but having spinning as a game wouldnt totally destroy its uniqueness. not everyone can jump on a skateboard pull off a mctwist and then land an acid drop but on the computer everyone can. its not destroying it its letting the world see it for what it trully is-- beautiful organised chaos that takes skill to design your moves and have "your" style im still thinking its a good idea

but maybe i had a brain haemerage
confused

computers only do what you program them too.
thus
no innovation in the game itself
now, programming the game, thats another thing

I'm reminded of a story tho-
a friend of many of my friends made, with help, a counterstrike map last year. Its damn good. But see.... when they were walking around late one night, someone in the group jumped up, swung from the bottom overhang of a ground floor door, and used it to hoist himself several floors and get in on a fireescape type thing. Way cool move, as was. And in counterstrike, it would have been an invaulable attack. But what i will always remember is the guy who's map it was' reaction...

"Hey, you can't even do that on the map!"

He was right.

Uh I really like the idea of it being done in a dance dance revolution format in perhaps an arcade.

They could make it so arcade owners hook a network cable into the back of the arcade machine and download expansions to add new moves and music tracks.

But, the market for this is way to small, I don't see how the mainstream poi issue is even applicable because Im pretty the case would be Poi becomes mainstream->game is made

Not game is made->poi becomes mainstream.
