The tutorials are extraordinary. In addition to the flash videos, it would be nice to have them in a format one could download and watch repeatedly. Preferably something of higher quality. I'm partial to mpeg1 which doesn't make really small videos, but the quality is good and it works on every platform.

Well, I'm glad you guys are getting something outta all my hard work. I've had hardly any time to spin recently -
- That's why I just had to go to Synergy in London on saturday. Hello to all you crazy poi spinners I met there - you guys rock!!
Anywho. I will get round to putting all the vids up as downloads. The problem I have is that my home PC is f@cked and I gotta use my work one - which means no premiere. But I had had lots of fun trying to use 'windows movie maker' ~ hmm, no wonder it's free!!
As for keeping copies of the vids on your computer ~you should be able to take the files out of your 'temporary internet files' folder (PC) and keep them, and watch them whenever you like. Tell me if I'm wrong, don't know if you can do that on macs. And I don't think they are protected.
Higher quality? Yep that would be nice but there are over 200 of these clips, and that was only what I got without any preparation ~ there could easily be another 100. I'm trying to keep the file sizes as tiny as possible. The Flash files are about 2 thirds the size of the original MPEGS. I can get them smaller ~ and therefore do them higher resolution but it all takes time. But i'm staying in brighton over christmas and i wanna have at least 100 vids uploaded for the new year.

I don use php yet, but a good friend of mine generates xml from php, then loads the xml file into flash(ie loads an instance of the xml obj from a url of a php pages that generates xml). I have a data class that you can use that abstracts all of the xml loading/validation/navigation n stuff from a yr ago r so, works the same if youre using php, .net, etc..lemm kno if you'd like to look at it

From this I've learned the 3-beat split-time TTN, after doing that quite a bit I got the reverse 3-beat split-time TTN accidentally. I intended to do a transition into a BF and went into a reverse BF instead. Following that, getting turns was pretty straightforward. Still don't have the 5-beat yet, and it doesn't help that the video is pixelated quite a bit.

and wish that you went to luke wilsons workshop at BJC last april
he was showing ... from forwards direction, reach across the top of the other arm, like doing 4bt TTN, release when the poi is coming up (before it wraps the other arm) 1 spin and catch uncrossed.
