I've noticed that there are a few posts in various places about this, but maybe we should have them all in this one?My New Years was one of the best ever at a Murder Mystery dinner party hosted by a friend and work colleague. The eight of us were gathered at her beautiful home on the Thames in London and just before midnight, everyone gathered upstairs on the rooftop balcony to watch me spin some fire, which was great fun. I got to break in some virgin poi from the HoP site. (Really recommend the 4 inchers, they are a great weight for spinning fast and slow…they just feel so good!)Anyhoo, at midnight the river erupted with the Boom-Boom-Boom of a hundred different fireworks displays up and down the river and shortly after I thought I might add some of my own to the scene. Not sure if any of the boats passing by saw it, but it was well appreciated by my mates and their neighbours too…I hope everyone else had a great New Years too!Cheers,C

We (Anthelion) did our first "professional" performance on NYE. It was at Foxwoods Casino, the largest casino in the US. We did 2 sets for a total of 4000 people. Other performances included taiko drummers, dancers, an aerialist, Kool & the Gang and Earth Wind & Fire. It was a great experience and we met some really cool people. I had never performed in front of an audience that big and to be honest: 50 people of 2500 people, same deal.I'll post a video soon if we get a good one.Nomad

NYE!! YEE HARR that was freaking sweeet! Yeah well I had a really good one...I have only been twirling for a little bit and after all my plans were destroyed and/or cancelled we had a little impromptu get-together, about 2 dozen of my closest friends and my first *experienced* (???) performance in front of most of them....it was crazy! smileThey were damn impressed and we ended up rocking onto the beach/waterfront (I live on an island call it what you want..)which was packed for NYE, and twirled some more for some very enthusiastic and supportive spectators. Was crazy wild fun and I had a ball!! So yeah...thats my experience for youse all, hope you had as much fun!HAPPY 2002 TO YOU ALL!!!!!

Richard Pickle, who was skiing down his favourite slope one early morning to find a snowman had been built there. He was intrigued and so skied a bit closer for a look, when BAM! it exploded...Nice way to go...On other interesting news, there was a car in the Thames that night, so we watched about 30 firefighters drag it out (what a nice way to spend NYE for them)...they came round to ask us if we had seen it go in there, because they didn't know whether there was a body in the car or not...EW!...anyhoo, the brand-new Ford convertable was empty...I wonder why it needed to be dumped in the river?Cheers,C

New Year's Eve in Baltimore was great. Ten other spinners and I were hired by Baltimore's Office of Promotions to provide flaming entertainment during their NYE festivities. Pictures are online at https://vees.net/g2/?t=balt/nye01Everyone
had a great time, and the organizers told us that we were so important to the celebration that we were the only ones getting paid.Keith

Pulled off my first big party since this summer. (For those who don't know, I am a former club owner and now a part time promoter) Had a freakin blast! grin NYE 2K2 Resolution: Love Thy DJ drew about 250 people shocked So I am back in the fun seat again! We released baloons and used leaf blowers to blow 150 pounds of confetti over the crowd at midnight. Had some excellent dj's there to rock in the new year right, and of course, I brought my bag of tricks. Once everything got flowing good, I spent most of the night on the dancefloor, just flowing to the grooves and enjoying the vibe. This was most definitely the best new years that I have ever experienced! grin------------------I feel more like I do now then I did when I got here.PLUR(RE) ---J---

so i was with Nomad at Foxwoods too...its in my home town, and I actually probably knew some people in the audience though they probably had no idea that was me up there on stage. I spent the whole night before the two shows being really nervous, plus I was getting the flu too so it was kind of weird alternating between cold medicine and lots of tea. but then we went on and the lights went up and our music was louder than we had ever heard it and it all went away and all there really was left was the fire. you dont even notice how many people there are in the audience. or maybe thats because i did it with no glasses on and no contacts since i dont have them, so i really couldnt see anything smileit was much more fun afterward. very cool people. and Kool and the gang were cool too smile Pere

I (foolishly) stayed in Guildford and was throughly cold. I tried to spin at midnight with my glowsticks (Police all around so I didn't risk fire) and it was soooo cold they barely glowed. I kept having to stop and warm them up so I gave up. All in all it was a fairly sh!te night. Ah well, maybe next year...------------------https://welcome.to/thehugbubble The Mug Shot Gallery MSN Poi Community Words to memerise, words hypnotise, words make my mouth exercise.

Yup got drunk weee. Then watched my friends chase each other around the backyard playing steal the fire staff. I dunno how they didn't get burned. It was the funnest thing I've ever seen. I had a truly fantastic night, highlight of which was spinning fire in front of my friends for the first time. It was not a fantastic performance - pretty cold, pretty uncoordinated and pretty hopeless really but it was fun cos they were all quite impressed! It didn't seem to matter that I wasn't that good and it gave me a huge boost when they all cheered (and I didn't set my head on fire!) They enjoyed it and I enjoyed it, so a good time was had by all smile

Happy New Year everyone!Sorry everyones NY eve wasn't perfect, but mine really really was. I met up with old friends in Essex (and a new friend I met thru HoP) and we spent the night on our mates land. And Dizzy, how hardcore is this? I spent from about 9pm-6am twirling a fire staff in the frost. We did have a big fire and heated caravans but I was having to thaw the paraffin over the fire before it would light. And I saw the first sunrise of 2002 and it was amazing smileHope 2002 brings everyone peace and groovy stuff!sunbeam

I will remember that sunrise 4ever sunbeam.....even though I was freezing my titties off and 'queing' to 'get out' of the Dome. I was wrapped in some mad foil stuff to keep me warm......but hey that sunrise it was beautiful and 'mentally' warming! smile------------------"If you alway do what youve always done, youll always get what youve always got".....by 'someone wiser than me'
