Well I'm going to get a big cuddly cat. Already having a lifelong partner I'm thoroughly devoted to, who has a lifespan of ~15 years may put strains on any other potential relationships, but then it's not like that's ever going to happen, and anyway, ragdolls are just adorable:

I am so close to not being single it's not even funny. I hate this bit of a potential relationship - the uncertainty, living on the edge of your seat time - it sucks! I just want a definite 'yes, we are together, hurrah for us' or a 'no, i don't like you, please leave me alone'. I need certainty damn it!!
Until then, I shall remain lurking around this thread with cookies for all.

Beth, your feelings mirror my own. I prefer the certaincy of singledom to putting a lot of my self-esteem into someone else's image of me.
And yay for ragdolls! A friend of mine has a pair, they are much more friendly and cuddly than my own cat.

Beth, Jarle - Learn to love the uncertainty! That point in a relationship can often be the most important, this is the moment where you truly start to learn about each other and figure out if you're compatible or not.
Beth, I assume that if you are "so close to not being single it's not even funny" that its got past the "I wonder if they like me or not" stage. If so then its all a question of what feels right at the time - for you and for them, theres no question of "rejection" on either side, things will happen if they are meant to, and won't happen if they're not, just sit back a bit and enjoy spending time around this person, the rest will happen by itself.
Getting stressed in such a situation is the easiest way to make things feel wrong - and if they feel wrong they probably are, be happy about the positives and let things flooooow, even if things don't work out, you'll be much happier in the end

It's kind of weird, it's pretty obvious we like each other but it hasnt been said, we're both too shy/reserved to be honest about it. We're going out this weekend so hopefully things will progress nicely
Don't like the uncertainty, it's too stressful! Me and the lady know each other pretty well and we're so compatible it's quite ridiculous, tis only a matter of time!
