I caught up with a friend I hadn't seen since last year. Chemistry has occurred in the past

Funny this thread should reappear today after this weekend actually. Saturday night I had to listen to a friend of mine drunkenly pouring his heart out about how much he likes a girl and she'd told him that she likes him too but because of some history between him and her best friend nothing's ever going to come of it and how he's managed to screw things up for himself and how depressed about it he is because it's the first time someone he likes has liked him back for years, knowing full well that I've got bit of a thing for this girl as well. I'm sympathetic but it was kinda hard to give him some balanced advice. Then I spent all yesterday afternoon with an ex that I'm still close to (I've mentioned her before in here somewhere) and even though I'm pretty sure us getting back together would probably be a bad idea spending time with her always leaves me going through a whole load of 'what if' scenarios.

What is scenarios are god-awful. I still get pangs about my ex from time to time, but everytime I do, I think back to all the horrible crap she put me through, and how I felt, and the what-if's vanish and turn into what-the-smeg-was-I-thinkings.
