Ok I have 2 possible explanations for you one is correct one is wrong but I have been told that both are the fountain before.

First is a weave turning into a recerse weave followed by immediately turning back to a forwards weave - with a beat of windmill inbetween.

Second is exactly the same but on the first turn, from forwards to reverse weave, there is a beat of windmill too.

Hope this helps people to view their opinions,

Hmm, I have another variation still:

Turn from forwards weave to reverse weave but move the poi down close to the ground, then turn back to forwards weave (without the windmill bit), moving the poi up fairly high.

That's what I call the fountain anyway

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

righty-o the funkey poi book i learnt it from told me to to something like
- do a non-turning weave turn from your right to your left:
a weave on the left of your body - (like do a normal weave and turn you feet 90deg to the right) then move it infrount of you till your doing a reverse weave on your right Makeing each end middle hight and middle bit as low as possilbe

-once your doing the backwards weave on the right of your body move it up into a windmill and then after one revolution move back to the weave on the left of your body.

- its pretty much mark's second surjestion i could draw i crappy little pic if you realy wanted

i was under the impression however that half the thing was having your body kinda facing forward so your doing it in a circle round you - but what do i know

i would say start here.
then check out this video (20 seconds in - ignore the numbers as for some reason the beats are counted as the clubs pass 9 o'clock rather than at the bottom as usual).

as you can see from the other posts though, we all have our own preferred ideas of what a fountain is.
this discussion has been going on for a long time.

and to think i only changed my sig a couple of weeks ago...

I've been told and shown that it is forwards weave turning to backwards with the windmill beat in the middle of it. I've done this a few times and it looks great especially on fire.

I heard its where you spin the poi at your sides, but underwater.

Seriously, wasn't there a long thread about this in moves a few months ago?

that's pretty much been the case since the board began mate
go check my links up there and see how many fountain definitions you can find

then (for those who are still a little confused by what they find) notice that the oldest hop description (by diana) agrees with the one given by anna jillings and the gandini's...
