Posted:You could go to the hardware store and pick up a pipe bender. I think you can get one for around $10. I know a couple of people who have had good success straightening staffs with those.

Posted:Yes, Cantus, I do in fact work with metals for a living.

And I didn't take any offense, Ray. So no worries.

The pipe bender thing I'm speaking of is a basicly a reinforced semi-circle with a channel to fit the pipe. Attached to the concave side is a round fitting to put in any length handle for your desrired leverage. It also has degrees marked out on the side so you have a referance as to how far you're bending the pipe. So basicly you set your pipe on the ground, slide the bender on, step on the pipeand pull back on the handle. I would Imagine that it is a little more difficult to straigthen something with it, but it should work for what you need, I think.
