P, I tried that but my local plaque maker said he was all out of "Pele slept here" plaques. Apparently they tend to sell out quickly around bars and brothels.

Inspiration?Mine is a guy who I introduced to fire spinning 2 weeks ago in Switzerland.I'm travelling at the mo and I spin alone or with people who I'm teaching, mostly alone except for this guy…he's called Guillaume and hes a natural, lke I spent half an hour during the day with him learning the weave and not quite getting it. That evening he commences with a 5 beat weave I say " no it's not necessary just 2 beats and 1 beat" but he doesn't get it then I think naaa shut up Adele, if he can do a five beat weave straight off then let him! So I get the fire out and he does it with fire too. I always get people started with the fire as soon as possible - just for the thrill. He is soooo elegant and has a a total desire to learn and a kind of meditational zen quality about his practice……ah tres beau. When I watch him I want to spin again and again. We learnt together for a week travelling back in his camyonette to the south of France spinning fire every night. I have already taught him all the moves I know that’s all the moves on this site in under a week. I know that he will be better than me very soon but that’s great because this guy was destined to spin fire, and I am the one who showed him the way and I've span so much in the last two weeks because of him and learnt alot.Infact I'm so much more into spinning now and he's also inspired me to make my first post to the board - I mean I want to tell people and who better than you guys who can understand where I'm coming from. Sadly we are apart at the moment and I spin alone again L but soon to meet up J I hope.I wonder have any of you had inspirational students?

DAMN! Someone said I was inspirational and i've been avoiding this thread coz it looked like a poi-only thing when it first started.(drags out his ego pump from under the bed and attaches it to the valve)I'm gonna get flamed here badly, but I think staff is much easier to get into a lull with than poi, making my inspiration people directly related to whether I'm in a rutt or not. Now I'm fully into double staffs coz of a guy called Tim who's got more double staff moves than I've got single staffs, and I know I'm not the worst staffer in the world. As for cows and chickens and NYC's shower, I guess I shouldn't comment coz I've been absent from this thread.... grin grin grin grin

I think you'll find that whoever this person was Charles they also listed Dangeyboy as inspirational. They haven't seen Flash yet but she said she might come and visit them when she's in the country next year. So they can see her spin then (maybe grin)And you seem to have glazed over the point were they said "Charles (when he's not burning himself)" And the bit when they said the fact that he's a year younger than them was also a factor....not so much inspiration as fear of being superceded by a newer model winkXaeda yeah, the unicycle thing does detract somewhat doesn't it?------------------C@ntus

Back on line after a long time away, hello old and new friends..My inspiration for starting poi was a newzealander but stylewise I have been inspired by Japanese girls. Chooch has a beautiful poi style as does my friend Yukiko who I taught poi and who far outstripped me in style and grace after only a short while doing poi.Looking forward to meeting the London fireweavers for more inspiration.Kat------------------"London is a city coming down from its trip and there's going to be a lot of refugees" - Danny,Withnail & I

So you've been to one of the Exodus Collective's Parties have you Prim@te?Feel free to take one step up cool in my esteem. They threw some mad ones back in the day. It all went a bit shit when the pigs were cracking down shocked but I think it's all smiley down there again nowadays. I really must go down sometime. I haven't seen them folks for pure time.If you like free parties you should come up and play in Sheffield some time. We have some of the best. And two of the finest exponents of fire chains I've ever seen. Who, can usually be goaded into spinning at the drop of a hat. And, if you're really lucky, you might even see that rarest of animals - Me spinning staff/s. A rare treat. I'm more fickle than Rick and Orange tho. Takes a real special hat dropping b4 I perform.... tongue------------------C@ntus
